What does golgotha have to do with Manny? ???
I think it has to do with Manny being multicolor? Now that I think of Golgotha's wording, that's probably not it.

It used to be you could pile your whole defense onto Golgotha from the Discard Pile and use DoU alternating Threatened Lives to have an infinite loop of Gibeonite Trickery and Forgotten History. Now the most shenanigans you can pull are getting an infinite loop off the much less stable Scribe/Abe's Kid alternation.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I personally don't consider that a bad thing. Infinite loops in general are bad for the game IMO.

Not when it was the only reliable way to defeat Thad. Now there is no reliable way to defeat Thad.

That's not reliable at all. Your opponent gets rid of Confusion of Mind once, Balaam will never be able to get it back, assuming your opponent isn't mentally challenged and uses Thad to rescue the rest of the game. And even if you use him in a side battle or something to get back CoM, your opponent can go ahead and get rid of it real quick once more, and in the meantime he'll be making successful rescues.

You guys wanna know what a reliable counter to Thad is? You wanna hear it? Guards. That's right. Put it on a purple site and keep blocking with KoT or Claudius. Works every time...

Thad doesn't protect cards in discard piles from the blocking EC.  Therefore, Balaam/CoM is reliable, assuming you can continue to block with Balaam and stop rescues.

Thad not protecting cards in discard piles from the blocking EC is what makes Goliath's Armor recursion such a good way to stop Thad.

Best way to stop Thad: win before the end of the game when he's actually good.

Not like they have 5x AOC and 5x Reach. The best counter is to Molech Worship Uzzah for 14 turns. 5 Uzzahs.

It is impossible to win before the end of the game. When you win, the game ends. You can, however, win before the game gets very far along.  ;)
ANB is good. Change my mind.

It's not that Thad isn't great in T1, it's that Phil+Bart are as good, if not better.

I know that Passover Hymn + Matt is useful, but I've only done it once.  What am I missing?

no, that was it. i dont consider infinite card recursion that you'll see the next turn anywhere next to useless. at nc regionals, i ran completely out of my deck, but was able to recur hymn 4 or 5 times to beat down a turtle herod defense.

he also recurs he is risen as well.

By the time you've got that ready to go, Thad should already be proving his Raddness.  It's good, but dwarfed by other options.

well no one was debating what hero is more effective than the other late-game...if we were, w.servant would win that debate everytime (and we all know how garbo w.servant is...::)). im just pointing out how matthew isnt near as useless late-game as some may perceive. what is thad going to do against turtle herods late game that continually capture him with dungeon? overall, i would say matthew is 'better' than thad point for point since he isnt useless early game like thad is.
