There are a number of things to be considered with the new version of Falling Away. Enough that Land of Redemption will do a full article on this card in the future. Rob gave us a schedule of previewing all 129 cards in 4 weeks. That doesn't allow us to do every card justice as we reveal them the first time around.

That's kind of true...

All cards will be spoiled by the end of this week. However, we already have some other great features ready to share in waiting for the full set to be spoiled - including:

Yes, I think you are missing something.

Now I'm not going to claim that the new one is better than the old version, but I do believe they are comparable. If used correctly, it will still result in your opponent having one less rescued soul, right?. Will it always work to stop a rescue? No, but then again sometimes the old Falling Away doesn't work either if your opponent is using GoyS or Lampstand.

Not to mention it's versatility...often times the best play will be to target your opponent's attacker, but what if they attack with a band and you have no ECs? Simply convert one of your own Heroes to an EC in whatever brigade you need and you can potentially do more damage than simply taking back the free Lost Soul you had to give up for lack of an EC.

All this and more will be explained in a future LoR article, but don't be so quick to dismiss

It is a more versatile card, and something that can actually be more useful in a lot of decks or against a lot of archetypes. Stopping a rescue before the soul is in LoR really is equivalent to undoing the rescue (more so when #5, or #3 if SoG/NJ haven't been played, is the rescue); it also has fewer protections than there are against the current FA, though of course at the expense of not always working still.

The point was not to create an "upgrade" on Falling Away, that wouldn't make much sense for us to do; just like everything else that is being "reprinted" as part of this set (including some old staple characters), the point was to try and make something new and thought-provoking for deck-building and strategy, as well as to allow for more options that people could legitimately choose to work with.

All that said, I can tell you that playtesters have had fun with this card, and found it to be extremely useful. Will it replace the old FA? Will you use either? Who knows, but the fact that there are legitimate options to choose between was something we wanted for the game.

Full set lists for Cloud of Witnesses (both excel and PDF) as well as images for all the cards will be added to the resource section of Land of Redemption the week of May 16th.

Rob has not given any further indication of the release date. It will vary depending on the printer, shipping and the requirements for package as well as Rob's other work load. I'm hoping for a late May release!

I'm not personally doing the Lackey update so I can't speak directly to that. Whomever is doing it welcome to contact me directly to obtain all card images in a nice little package, if they need them.

I think he means that it is a player made card, not a John.
