The Christian school that I started my playgroup in CT for was extremely supportive, but I wonder if the fact that they were non-denominational had anything to do with it. If there are any non-denom organizations in your area, try them out to see if it makes a difference.

I know I am a little late to te conversation but does anyone know if someone has already put in an application to host nats?  I mean, if none of the other locations have put in an app, then its going to be hard to host one there!

I know I am a little late to te conversation but does anyone know if someone has already put in an application to host nats?  I mean, if none of the other locations have put in an app, then its going to be hard to host one there!

I know of four different groups that were developing a proposal to host Nationals.  I discussed the proposal of one group with the other three potential hosts.  Everyone threw their support behind the first group saying words to the effect of, "It's really their turn and I can't think of anyone more deserving."  The only issue is that the dates the group proposed conflict with a trade show I need to cover in NJ August 4 to 7th.  They are confirming that they can lock in the venue (Church) July 30 to August 1st (our first choice) or August 13th to 15th (our second choice).  I haven't announced the site because I am waiting to make sure we have a place to play.  If for some reason that fails, then one of the other potential hosts/sites will be reactivated.

I am hoping to be making an announcement later this week.

Blessings,
Rob

it should be as close to TN as possible for me to be able to make it.
i mean i'v NEVER experianced being in a top notch tournament as nats.
and hearing what all happened that i missed really makes me irritated (dead serious) :P
i'll even settle for going to nats just ONCE before we(the church) head up to heaven to be with Jesus

Andy (I am completely serious)...You have 6 months to save up money...I am SURE that if you can acquire 500.00 for travel expenses etc, that the redemption community will help out. I will say this once...IF you arrive to Nationals 2009, as a gift to you and your patience, I will cover your tournament fees for all 3 days. Now, if you want help on how to save, I can help with that too. But by now you are a mature young man that should be able to know how to save 50.00 per month. I would love to see you at 2009 Nationals, and even if I am unable to get off work for it, I will give your entry fee to someone who will go. Now, do you accept my challenge?

i'm not sure i'll be able to get a job with all the unemployment rates going the way they are and will only get worse, which is a problem for me.
but i do know a way to earn more cash which is to sell my cards and the prob with that is absolutly nobody will be willing to take these cards out of my hands cause i have so many crappy and common cards.
and what if i accept your challenge and i don't make it?

If you don't make it you don't make it...and just because unemployment rates are bad, does not mean you can't get a job....just not a traditional one...do services for people, rake leaves, clean gardens, plant flowers, mow when it gets warmer, wash windows, dust, vacuum, things like that for people who may not have a lot...but at the least you should be able to get about 5.00 an hour...just some thoughts friend, take it for what its worth. But an I can't attitude gets you nowhere...

Well, that's it then.  Nat '09 is clearly going to go to Minnesota.    :D

Seriously though, I hope the revised dates work out. This is most excellent.

[Once again MJB posting as JSB.  Dang, I can;t get used to not posting from any old account.]

That's right, it's really Columbus' turn.  Again.  I thought he meant the West Coast at first until he said they couldn't think of anyone more deserving.  That made it a lock in my mind.

Wednesday night I'll be signing autographs for interested parties.  $10 a shot.

what if i accept your challenge and i don't make it?
Then you have made a decision and given it your best shot and failed. But, you will be better off than someone who didn't even try! You will have grown in character, which is of eternal value. Also, think of this: the rudder can't turn the ship if the ship isn't moving. How can God direct your steps if don't take any?
