a status on facebook from pol made me inspired to start a funny or serious thread.

To the youth of today: When I was your age, it was ok to say NO to the bad influences
when i was your age, facebook was nothing more then a faint idea.
when i was your age, numa numa was just a song.
when i was your age, chris farley was still alive and doing SNL and "living in a van down by the river"

When I was your age, there were only 150 Pokémon, and Pluto was a planet!

When I was your age, we didn't have Black Ops. We played MW2 and we liked it.

When I was your age:

Redemption wasn't even invented (although it was about to be),
Nintendo was cool, but the Atari Jaguar was the future,
the VCR and microwave were both AMAZING,
if you were computer savvy you could connect to other people with BBS's,
Disney had just started making cartoons again (The Little Mermaid),
U2 was awesome and the highest paid celebrity was Bill Cosby

I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

In Black and White :o

Actually Pong was in black and green. Monochrome ftw!  ;D

TMNT live action movies

When I was your age, I saw the original drawings for the TMNT, before he sold the rights.

-------------------------

When I was your age:

RPGs were fought on paper using dice.
Portable computers weighed about 100 pounds.
Operating systems had to be booted from a disk.
Floppy disks were actually floppy.
A gallon of gas cost less than a dollar, and you had to decide between leaded and unleaded.
Banks gave you 5% interest on savings accounts.
Kent Hrbek was the next Harmon Killebrew.
No one knew where Iraq was, and Yugoslavia was a big country.
Disney was building a cool new theme park called EPCOT.
Hurricanes were only a threat to people who built houses on the beach.
America Online made it possible for common folk to access the internet.
You had to wait about twenty minutes to get an internet connection while listening to all the high-pitched squeals of your 14K Telephone Modem.
Holding a cell phone to your ear was roughly equivalent to holding a boom box to your ear.
Disco was starting to fizzle.
My wife is a hottie.

when i was your age depending how young you are:

N64 was competing with playstation 1 and the ocarina of time was making it's big appearance.
Power Rangers season 1 was one of the hottest programs on morning TV.
was a big fan of Batman
American Gladiators were actually GREAT and only had 2 colors, Red and Blue.
the Tennessee Titans were the Houstan Oilers and stunk (happy the oilers days are over)
Ken Griffey JR was still in his prime and playing for Seattle.
Rugrats were still airing old episodes.
was still eating M&m blasts from Sonic
was really into the Nintendo Entertainment System.
remember the only quote where Link ACTUALLY talked and told Zelda "WELL, EXCU-U-U-U-USE ME, PRINCESS!"
captain lou albano was still living and playing Mario in the Saturday morning Mario shows called "Super Mario Bros Super Show"
WWE wasn't "WWE" but WWF
nobody knew who J.K. Rowling was.

whew! plenty more where that came from XD

Oh wait, I still do...

I still have my Kaypro II, so that's OK.

YMT, I had dialup until I was eighteen, and we still play tabletop rpg's along with Redemption and Munchkin.

You had 56K dialup, with a well developed CISCO network. You have no idea what it used to be like.  :o

Speaking of which:

When I was your age, web pages were text-only.

When I was your age, well..... not much was different... I guess we didn't have Minecraft or IPhones but yeah that's about it.

An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.
