Hey guys! Sorry about the delay in getting an update...so we've hit a bit of a snag. We believe that the great looking art that Gabe found is not public domain. While we cannot determine who owns the copyright, we believe there is a very good possibility there is a copyright.

So...we need some more art submissions before we're ready to present Rapha. If we have several good ones we'll do a vote for that as well.

In better news, keep an eye on LandofRedemption.com for a spoiler about something new we're introducing with the set this year!

UPDATE: Please see Gabe's post below for previews of the various options.

The piece submitted by MJB does not have a preview as further research is needed to ascertain if it is indeed a public domain piece.

This round of voting will go until about 4 pm CST on Friday. At that time, any option with less than 20% of the vote will be eliminated and people who voted for those options can change their vote to a remaining option. Once we see how many options remain, I'll determine how long the next round will last.

My thoughts
4 captures experience and might
2 is interesting to look at
1 very cool to look at I'm not sure it grabs "Rapha" for me I don't picture a giant being an archer, seem more like a hand to hand combat kind of guy.
3 feels like a distinct Goliath Piece to me (an under armored Goliath) and his mad face without the full battle context seems awkward to me

This is totally my opinion and I wouldn't be disappointed with any of these options

It looks like someone added some red splashes and black scratches to what it probably a picture with a copyright on it. I don't think that makes it PD, even if you post it in a website to share it.

It is on a web site that requires posters to grant world wide free distribution rights to any images they upload. It is possible that the original poster has misrepresented there ownership.

On the other hand, can you warrant that the Oriental Warrior image provided as #1 is not an unauthorized replication of this image https://www.photo.rmn.fr/archive/09-577013-2C6NU0KJUTQL.html for which licensing is required?

Pier Francesco Mola lived in the 1600's. As such his work is in the public domain. It's not at all uncommon for businesses and websites to offer PD pieces for a premium cost. I don't speak whatever language is used on the website you linked, but I've seen enough like it to assume that is what they are doing. I have no concerns about using the Pier piece on Rapha or another card.
