Gamestop, if you havn't noticed, looks to me like they are going to stop selling xbox and ps2 games next. The gamestop near me are completely rid of xbox :'( didn't even get battlefront 2 yet. I think they might hold on to the gamecube a little while longer but wii is catchin up to them.
I quite video games...it was the worst 15 minutes of my life.

XBox they're certainly clearing out, but it died long ago. The PS2 is still hanging on.

Yeah, I was at my usual one last weekend and they rejected the one XBOX game I had in my trade-in pile. I had no idea they were discontinuing carrying XBOX stuff.

My guess is they'll stop carrying Gamecube stuff before PS2 stuff.

That's because the PS3 is so awful.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

In all fairness, they do not have the space to store all those games plus the new ones plus those cool cardboard cutouts of Mario, Pokemon, Halo, and the Assassin's Creed dude.

I'm hopeful that the girlfriend you bought that ring from Jared's for was not one of them....  :o

I wish the ones here were more like the ones in Canada (never thought I'd say that), since I hear they still carry older stuff (N64-era, maybe even older)

that's the thing wth gamestop
you just can't go in gamestop, purchase games and not expect them to have flaws.
gamestop has to be the worst video game store and the very worst part of it is: it advertises -_-

There's a used video game store about a half hour drive from me. They had a surprisingly large amount of NES, Genesis, Atari, and other archaic stuff (along with plenty of new stuff). It made me wish I played video games.

what are these so-called flaws? because we dont sell old-gen used games? so? are you going to complain because we dont sell redemption cards or ham sandwiches either?

yes, gamestop is the worse video game store, despite the fact we're the worlds top-selling videogame retailer.

I don't think it's worth getting a TV, console, and games, when I already have a DS I barely use. I'm a board/card game man, with the exception of a couple computer games (Heroes of Might & Magic, StepMania, Pocket Tanks, and the occasional web game, for the most part). I could go into more detail, but it'd be a total derail.

I've caused or encouraged my fair share of derails, for sure, but I'm not feeling it right now.

Except for the fact that this is now talking about derails than video game stores' game selections.

Ngaaaah.

There are plenty of second-hand stores in key market areas. I know in Virginia Beach I used to shop at two different stores that sold NES, SNES and the like. Gamestop has decided that is not the route they want to take. So be it. Their method seems to be working since they are

the worlds top-selling videogame retailer.
