New MP Defence?

*IMPORTANT* is it spelled "defense" or "defence"? Lol. Newb computer is newb. I'm not smart enough to use the google. *IMPORTANT*


This is all off the top of my head. Not looking at card lists, I haven't seen anything *too similar*, I don't have it down on paper, I haven't tested anything similar, etc. So there will be many improvements to be made. I will likely have three writs in my arts, in addition to three holy of holies. I plan to pair it when some sort of green offense (so I can atleast search for my SOG). This defence is currently 42 cards. Thats too many imo. I know there are various cards that can negate my ability to protect souls, which is my main concern.

Mayhem

Curses
3x Captured Ark

Evil Characters
5x KOT
3x Trembling Demon
5x Uzzah
3x Gomer
5x Nebsomethingoranother (the one from TXP)
5x Leviathan
3x Twelve Fingered Giant

Enhancements
5x B's Banquet (the blah blah blah discard yourself to protect souls one)

The defence is pretty simple. I have auto blocks in Trembling Demon with HOH, Uzzah, and Nebby if he searches for B's Banquet and adds it to battle. Gomer is just awesome, and can add a bit of beef to KOT and steal their evil characters. Leviathan is a nice big guy and can be pretty leet against TSA or COTH, especially when combined with Nebby. 12FG is for those thousands of captain bands you see in your average t2 deck

Things I've considered adding:
Neb's Pride (the 0/6 interrupt and set aside one). Battlewinner if I'm scared, and its worth 12 on nebby if they're using FBTN. I just don't really like it beings I only have 2 different crimson characters; setting them aside is dangerous. Catured ark may be enough for defence, though.

IoJ/Destructive Sin

The 0/3 orange end the battle card. Not sure if I'd get a chance to use it.

Unknown Nation

I'm definitely adding Seven Wicked Spirits per the suggestion of Adotson.

I'm probably just doing a newby ANB type deck and add a green site/color guard. Who is going to want to attack me with Neb sitting in my territory right after an ANB if they know I can just grab B's Banquet/Leviathan ;)?

Having 5 of any unique evil character is not a good idea. I would not have more that 3 of any unique evil character, unless your deck centers around them. Also, what are you going to do if you run into water jar? If one of your unique evil characters is set aside then you are in big trouble. TGT would really hurt you as would CTB. This defense would be best paired with an ANB offense.

Having 5 uniques isn't a big deal to me, I do it all the time even if they aren't intended to be suicidal (ie: Uzzah, Neb. I usually run The Bronze Laver or three). I didn't think of SWJ, nor can I think of much to counter it. Persian Presidents and Raiders Camp, maybe? That seems like too far of a stretch though.

TGT isn't too much of a threat. It isn't a powerhouse (nor common) in t2 like it is in t1 (especially in multi), but thats why I was considering adding IoJ or DS. I was heavily leaning towards ANB to begin with, beings I needed to abuse Search anyway, but now I almost have to due to SWJ

Yes! AND ITS GENERIC! AND IT WORKS INTO MY DEFENSE STRATEGY IF THEY DON'T HAVE SWJ! Awesome!

Dude, you're a genius :D. If CTB (specifically Jake -> OoN) is too bad, throw my ECs in Kingdoms and use SWS ;D

7WS is also nice in that you can use it to band in your Gomer and then (with fortresses still interrupted) band in someone else's defense.  If one of those defenders happens to have a horse on him, you can then use that to play Nebby's Discard defense to get rid of Gomer + all their guys.

Great idea :). This defense is giving me the chills already. I'm going to build it on RTS, although I've never made an ANB offense before. I feel disgusting for even thinking about using one.

I'm pretty sure that many who didn't use ANB got cookies at MN State.

Did I mention that those players took first and second? Maybe theres something about this strategy after all :)

In regards to the other important question, whether to use defense or defence depends on which side of the Atlantic you are on. Defence is British for defense (or defense is American for defence depending on where your loyalties lie).
