Cactus Game Design Message Boards

This is the deck I used at nationals and placed 3rd in T2 2P. That being said, I like the deck and would like to update it for the 2009 tournament season. I've messed around with various versions and updates but I thought it would be interesting to see what everybody else had to say. The one criteria I will add is that the deck cannot have more than 5 cards added because I don't like playing with over 105. I think the fact that this deck was 100 cards helped me but I'll be flexible, especially if somebody finds a more stable defense.

If by cowbell you mean reliable defense, I agree. However, I can't fit much more of a defense than I already have unless I can keep the guys I choose from dying. I thought about doing straight green, choosing a blocker and playing Plague of Frogs. However, I'm not sure how confident I am in Micah's recurring ability. Even though green is quick, with only 5 CTB cards I could get hosed.

Hmm... it appears that I said that at two in the morning. Maybe that's why it doesn't make any sense now.

The only other idea that I had would be to shuffle your defense around and fit in two each of Failed Objective, Death of Unrighteous, and Belshazzar's Banquet, along with an extra of each of the 1/1 kings in those three brigades. You'd get more use out of those kings when there's no CTB cards available, but you'd have to start cutting into your offense a little to fit nine extra cards. I don't know how well it would work, but it might be worth experimenting with.
