A New Beginning + Garden Tomb? Could it work?

Played against my first Hidden Treasures/New Beginning Deck the other night.  Didn't like it, and didn't really know how to stop it (although I site-locked him and kept him to 6 lost souls instead of the required 7), but it got me thinking.  Instead of splashing in FBTN heroes like my opponent did, what if instead I splashed in 3 Garden Tombs and all 6 Garden Tomb heroes?  I thought of having Habbakuk Stands Watch x 5 also to keep them shuffling their ECs, and also Nathan.  The hope would be that every now and then in the 11 cards you draw after Hidden Treasures/ANB, you might draw Garden Tomb and one of the six heroes.  I would be using a single color defense.

Could this work better, even thought it relies on more "combos"?  Thanks.

I would say put in a few copies of each character, specifically Salome, who can search out the Garden Tomb.  The idea sounds fairly good, you just have to make sure you can keep getting garden tomb and make sure you keep lost souls in play, which can be accomplished with Thorns, the only problem is you need to keep a defense, have a crimson defense and use 5x Nebuchadnezzar and 3x Unknown Nations and maybe The Amalakites Slave, so you can get a very good change of getting one, and then Search out Nebuchadnezzar's Pride and since they will always be shuffled when you use ANB you will probably never run out of them you can keep a defense that can go for a long time.  And just discard the rest of your evil cards you you won't have to draw them later and you might have a fast tough to beat deck
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.

Usted debe asegurarse de incluir el protector de color ha perdido el alma y un sitio verde, también. Yo no usaría los 6 héroes, sin embargo. Las tres damas y Juan (Autoridad de Cristo niño rocas!) Debe cumplir con su misión.

He construido una defensa fría Un nuevo comienzo recientemente. Los caracteres que no necesitan de apoyo (o poco apoyo) son el camino a seguir, como Nebby, Uzzaah, y el rey de Tiro.

I think I actually got the jist of that. Spanish is working!

Back on topic, I'm confused as to the question. Do you want to beat a deck, or do you want advice on how to make it?

I think he wants to know how to make an ANB/TGT offense. I contemplated this once, but my combo to pull it off was shot down.  It involved using Zaccheus x4 or 5, Ambush the City x5, TGT x3, a bunch of TGT heroes, ANB x5, hidden treasures x3 and some green prophets. I planned on using ANB to wipe the board. Then upon drawing if I didn't draw TGT I would attack with Zaccheus to go find and put TGT into play. Then I would play Ambush the City to start a new RA and walk in with a TGT hero. However, the play as for Zaccheus in the REG is not right and the fortress goes to hand instead of in play :(

I would give you advice, but my competitive TGT ANB deck was Type II.  ;D

Get a job!

Glad to help.

I think the problem with this deck will be getting TGT out every round. ...Is there a blue hero who can search for a fortress and put it in play?

no, but angel of warning (txp) can search for a good fortress and put it in play.

in most cases, an old-skool fbtn character will always work best with anb. tgt + hero requires at least 2 cards, while fbtn only requires one.

What happens when I play a multicolor enhancement? And Uzzah won't do anything against an 8/8 or 10/8 btn guy. The reason I won't be playing this deck again at nationals is because of so many people using black Philistines, and crimson. Those 2 colors hurt the offense due to high numbers, and both colors are highly played, so I would not recommend this deck for a highly competitive regionals, or nationals.

Then in your opinion Garden Tomb is the better pairing with Hidden Treasures + A New Beginning now?

No, I think btn is still better with than TGT/ANB. It is so much harder to get out a hero for TGT, plus the TGT, then just a btn dude. Because you should run 12-15 btn guys, and you can only run 3 TGT at most, and none of the TGT heroes put it into play, so you have to draw a TGT hero plus The Garden Tomb. Not seeing that happen after every reset. Great idea, just not too practical.

Well, I personally hope the new set creates a counter HT/ANB abuse for Type 2, becauses as of right now it seems there is little way to defense against it.

You kidding me? I just named the sole reason I would not be playing it at regionals/nationals. Too many people play crimson/black right now. Black can stop it all day by consistently recurring 12 FG, and crimson plays with 1/5 Midianite Attacks, and 0/6 Nebby's Pride along with 2-3 Nebby's, and 1-2 Leviathan. Brown does not get played, but gray could mutual destruction it or Balaam's Disobedience, pale green has good numbers usually due to Assyrians and Forgotten History, not seeing so much gold, and orange also has high numbers and CBN banding. So the top colors played, IMO, can stand up against it, it just depends on how it plays out. There is already counter to HD/ANB, you just have to play with them. Also that deck is very hard to counter because you can still go RA with a low initiative green hero and play ANB. Just make sure to include some high number guys and decent number enhancements and you'll be fine.
