This is the only T1 deck I'm really invested in right now. I've toyed around with Disciples, Water Tomb, and a handful of defense heavy decks and balanced decks, but none of them have performed sufficiently enough to justify playing them. I'm not entirely happy with it though, and I'm looking for advice on what to take out/add. My two options for adding something right now are FBTN (Beneniah and Ira) or adding a little extra defense (Trembling Demon, Holy of Holies, and Torment). The only thing I can think of to take out would be Lampstand, Eli, and Herod's Temple, but that seems less than ideal since I'm not using Guardian. Any suggestions?

It works well. You just wasted me with it, so I like it. Or, maybe I don't like it!   ;D

Provisions > Mustering for War

How has this deck been working out for you? I set-aside my Sam deck for the time being. Just seemed that it was getting too spread out on offense and was having more and more problems ever since the new rules came about. I have thought about trying to come up with a Sam/TGT deck. TGT would force them to put down their ECs, making Foreign Sword that much better. However, at this time I'm trying to focus my attention on balanced decks.

I tried something similar to this offense, but the SWJ part would never work.

Provisions > Mustering for War

Disagree. More often than not, they don't have any evil characters put down to pull in, and my defense is too small to sacrifice anyone. Mustering for War can be searched for via A Soldier's Prayer, and recurred (if speed is my focus) with the same. That's my logic behind using Mustering over Provisions anyway.

The deck works well for the most part. As I mentioned in the original post, I wish I had more defense and I wish I could reintegrate Beneniah and Ira into it, however, other than those two things, I really couldn't ask for anything more. It performs splendidly.

Using Herod's Temple and Deborah's Directive really ties the deck together. I was already using The Tabernacle for use with Lampstand, so the jump to Herod's Temple (on the off-chance I'd ever need to use it for a Christian Martyr on The Woman at the Well) was pretty logical. Deb's Directive has been a godsend, since I have five gold heroes, and I've used it on The Woman at the Well more than once during a soul drought to ensure a rescue. Edict and Directive have made the integration of SWJ into the deck nearly seamless, since there's a lot of common ground there.

If they don't have an Evil character then you can decide to just not use the CtB ability. I see your point, but in reality how many times are you actually going to use ASP to get MfW? I would say less than 1% of the time. You will almost always choose FS or Bravery. I would venture to say you would use Provision's CtB ability many more times than your recurr MfW.

I would defin. use Eli's Sound Advice or Provisions over Mustering for War. Ambush the City is always a great add as well, especially if you attack w/ Woman or TL to bring up a Soul 1st.
If you were to go on a trip... where would you like to go?

I use ASP to get Mustering in at least 50% of the games I play. In the few situations I need to pull Foreign Sword or Bravery of David, I'll grab one of them, but most of the time I have other options for making rescue attempts, so the extra drawing works better for me. Same goes for recursion. If I need to pull Foreign Sword (which, admittedly, I often do) or Bravery of David, I'll do it, but with two other major battle winners, a fair amount of banding, and some CBN banding, along with the ability to look at my opponent's hand in the mid-to-late game, I still manage to be okay just pulling Mustering unless I absolutely need a battlewinner.

I would defin. use Eli's Sound Advice or Provisions over Mustering for War. Ambush the City is always a great add as well, especially if you attack w/ Woman or TL to bring up a Soul 1st.

Eli's Sound Advice is too conditional for me to use it. Ambush the City is nice, but Deborah's Directive accomplishes the same thing, only a lot better, and I don't feel the need to add another gold enhancement.
