I've been toying around with some different ideas for lockout decks and was wondering if John Early's 2015 site lockout deck, or a variant thereof, would be a viable deck today?


Does the arrest / Stoic philosophers combo still work?

i believe yes this conceptually is still viable(really more so revolving around making your opponent deck out and having watchful servant),

but no- this current build is not strong enough to defend in this meta the way it did in 2015

with certain build changes, yes it could be viable, but i think that if you are interested in this style of deck there are other more viable options currently such as:

egyptian deck discard! :)

I have an Egyptian deck discard deck I'm working on that uses faithful servant, it's fun, but slow.

Does the arrest stoic combo still work?

Joshua and Moses put the biggest hurt on this deck. Joshua because he steals the Sites that help stall until the defense is fully set up and Moses obviously because he negates Stoics.

The Arrest/Stoic combo does still work, but is much less reliable due to Moses.

if you have your own joshua to steal back sites, then this might work, if you can keep holy of holies up while moses is out.

But doesn't Holy of Holies stop Moses too?

Holy of Holies is a prevent, so if Moses is already in play then Holy of Holies does not negate him.

Or if one of the sites is Caesarea Phillipi, which protects itself and other NT sites and an adds an extra layer of protection for your NT Greeks in territory.
