Wheel Within a Wheel is really good, and a silver character or two is pretty easy to splash in your deck. For evil there's not much other than protecting your character from discard and not playing an enhancement.

For evil Wandering Spirit will stop them from using it on demons (or is it only orange demons), well it will put the demon beneath the deck, but since it didn't discard it the shuffle won't happen.

Alternatively on the defense you could use combos that don't let your opponent play dominants (like 2khorses into Forgotten History).

On the offense you can also try pre battle ignore (stopping evil cards from entering battle) as well as Wheel Within a Wheel.

Really my recommendation is just to take the Grapes like man rather than diluting your deck to try and get around it.
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.

Iwas just wondering if there is any protect card for it that i don't know about like JT for SW... Thanks for the help guys

Judas Iscariot and Herod's Temple with a NT defense are good ones.

Judas Iscariot (Pi)
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Crimson • Ability: 6 / 6 • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect this evil character from convert and discard abilities on opponent’s cards while he remains in play. Cannot be negated. • Identifiers: NT Male Human, Disciple • Verse: Mark 14:10-11 • Availability: Priests booster packs (Ultra Rare)

Herod's Temple (Di)
Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: If your N.T. human is discarded by a special ability used by an opponent, you may discard a card of matching brigade from hand and the top X cards of your deck instead. Put Lost Souls in play instead. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Mark 13:1 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

There is nothing that works specifically against Grapes, you just have to use general game mechanics.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Grapes is so tasty. It just won me a rescue attempt against Magician's Snakes. ^_^

Then that was a misplay. Even if you discard Snakes, MS would only be able to update after Grapes finishes.

As to the question, Protection of Angels and W3 are great. Isaiah is good too, and Evil cards that are protected from Discard or Shuffle. That's most of what you can do.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

Actually it's legal. Snakes has a while in battle clause.

That if I am remembering correctly would only check after Grapes completes.

Good fine on Hating the Light.

I also would like to hear some confirmation on whether Grapes vs Snakes works.

Hating the Light would suffer the same drawback as Magician's Snakes. The "while in battle" on both cards means that Grapes could target it for Discard and shuffle unimpeded.

If it hasn't been errata'd to have a colon instead of a period, it should be. I thought it was printed with one.

Regardless, grapes on a snake works.

Colon now means 'while in battle'?

No, it means "while on (whatever it is that it's placed on)." Given how ignorant (objectively, not meant to insult at all) the Redemption community is on the subject of the only signpost used in Redemption, perhaps future signposting should be more broadly publicized.

Colon now means 'while in battle'?

No. It means "while it remains placed." Just as MS is not in battle when Grapes is used on it, HtL is not placed when Grapes is played on it. Thus Grapes can shuffle the ECs in both cases.

No idea why HtL doesn't have a colon if it doesn't (can't access the pics on my phone right now). It should, but even if it didn't, it is similar to older place cards, some of which have an implied instead of explicit "while it remains placed".

I'm not sure what the actual card depicts, but I was going by the REG and RTS, which has the colon. I was unaware the colon means 'while placed'. Thanks for the clarification Prof.

My explanation was more correct. It's not just "while placed," but "while placed (on X)." I forget what the pertinent example is, but say a card said, "Place on a Hero: Protect character from Discard," it would not function if he were converted to an EC because it's no longer placed on a Hero.

There is indeed a colon, granted it is rather close to the "r", making it easy to miss if you just skim over the ability.

The colon is written in the REG as well:

Quote
Hating the Light (Di)

Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Place on your human Evil Character: This Evil Character cannot be ignored and is protected from capture, conversion, and shuffle. • Play As: Place on your human Evil Character: This Evil Character cannot be ignored. Protect this Evil Character from capture, conversion, and shuffle. • Identifiers: None • Verse: John 3:20 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

Good to know. Thanks Lambo.

My explanation was more correct. It's not just "while placed," but "while placed (on X)." I forget what the pertinent example is, but say a card said, "Place on a Hero: Protect character from Discard," it would not function if he were converted to an EC because it's no longer placed on a Hero.

I think the pertinent example you were thinking of is Destructive Sin on a captured Hero (which no longer applies, since it has since been clarified that any weapons and placed cards on a captured character are discarded when they are captured). I honestly can't remember what the result of that discussion was, but you may be correct. It's something that should be clarified in the next REG update, and since I'm not sure any reason why your explanation shouldn't be correct, that might be the result.
