Price of a Complete Set

I'm just curious how much someone would have to spend to purchase a complete set of Redemption cards, including all the errors.

The first place to start is to get the Deluxe Factory Set from Cactus Game Design for $275.  This includes: This is a "complete" set of every Redemption card printed, up through the Warriors Expansion. This set includes all the Limited Edition (with promos), Prophets, Women and Warriors cards. The Deluxe Factory Set also includes a complete set of all 130 Faith of Our Fathers and 120 Rock of Ages cards.

So you would have to get a complete set of Apostles, Patriarchs, Kings, Priests, TxP & Disciples as well as the C/D, E/F, G/H starter deck.  The errors and the newer promos would also not be included.

The Apostles & Patriarch sets won't be hard to acquire or very expensive due to the TxP & Disciple sets. Maybe around $20-$30 a piece.
The E/F & G/H starter decks are $10 at the most, but could easily get them for $5 or cheaper.
The promos wouldn't be that hard either, the easiest way to get most of them is just attend a State, Regional & National tournament, since you get each of the promos at those tournaments.

The most expensive things would be the C/D starter deck (probably $20), the Women's errors (around $90 or so), and the other out of print ones (King David, King Solomon, Caleb & Joshua) (Probably around $40 for all of those)

My guess is that you could get prices somewhat like below if you went with someone besides Cactus and 3LG (who charge a premium and have the best condition cards).  My guess is that the total for 1 of everything would probably be somewhere in the $800 $1000 range.

$200 - Deluxe Factory Set (Limited, Prophets, Women Warriors, FooF, RoA)
$25 - Apostles
$25 - Patriarchs
$75 - Kings
$75 - Priests
$75 - TxP
$75 - Disciples
$15 - C/D
$  5 - E/F
$  5 - G/H
$150 - Errors
$50 - National Tournament Promos
$50 - All other Tournament Promos
$125 - Special Promos (Faithful Servant, Seeker of the Lost, King David, etc.)
$50 - Sentimental value of a complete set of everything
--------
$1000 Total

I have a complete set in one box. All the cards are sleeved and categorized based on what set they were released in. I would probably say the set would retail for over $2000, but I would probably take around $1000 for it. Shipping will be a bear with the set though so it might be worth the trip to southwest Ohio.

Does this include all of the white angel error cards....all of them (Angel at Shur, Wheat & Tares, etc.)?

Does this include the no number starter purple cards?

does this include the FooF errors?

My point is this...where is the line drawn on having all the errors as part of the collection?
Is it even possible to get them all? <--I ask myself this all the time.

The problem comes in when you want to include all the errors. While we've recently learned that there are no-number purple starter deck cards and Faith of Our Fathers errors with a white back, as well as white angel errors, I only know of one of each. In addition, there could very easily be other errors that we haven't found yet!

Except for Angel at Shur (White), in which case there are (at least) three.

Thanks for giving a definite answer after our guesses.  Out of curiosity, where did I go wrong on my estimations that added the extra $200?

Personal attachment to the set along with the two prints of A/B deck and two prints of C/D deck.

Also: I would value the error cards (more than a one or three shot) more highly along with the promo cards, especially the newer ones...

Mark, your estimates all looked pretty accurate. The only exception I believe is that you were way off in the promo category. You listed all tournament promos @ $50. You can't even get a Daniel + Goliath for that price, much less all the rest. I don't know that you were $200 off there but I imagine that is the bulk of the difference. The price you gave for special promos is also probably a little low also considering some of those are the hardest to find cards in the game.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Thanks guys.  I updated my post to reflect those things.  Hopefully it will be a good thing to point back to in the future when people wonder about this question.

It's still a great reminder to have a game where every card in the ccg is attainable for a cool grand, while just one of my tier 1 decks for another ccg costs over a grand alone. :\

That is a good point MKC.  I do really appreciate Rob's heart in making this a game that is affordable for everyone instead of trying to milk it for every last cent.  His generosity is awesome!

I think it has more to do with supply and demand.  In other CCG's, there are far more players who create a much larger demand for cards.  This is one of the advantages of Redemption.  (You could make the argument that CCGs like MTG, the "four per deck" rule also increases demand).

I disagree that it is more supply and demand (although that is part of it).  I think it is more Rob's generosity.  For instance, if MtG came out with a cards that were as powerful and game changing as Son of God, Angel of the Lord, and Christian Martyr are in Redemption, then they would NOT practically give them away in every starter deck.

MTG Sells starter decks and packs for around the same price redemption does. They keep demand up a little with set rotation, but most of the high costs are demand related. MTG doesn't price individual cards, the market does.

If MTG came out with imbalanced cards like dominants, they would ban them.
