paypal is tightening security alot though lately. if you're not a reputable seller on ebay, they will hold funds up to 21 days until either the buyer leaves positive feedback or 3 days after delivery was confirmed. if its a non-ebay, non-personal transaction, they will hold the payment up to 21 days or until 3 days after delivery is confirmed.

That should totally be on a T-Shirt not gonna lie.

i agree, and i would buy it from you. can i use paypal?

A giraffe is basically a long horse that you can't ride and eats leaves.

Don't they eat like hay and grass? I'm just saying, you don't need to get kicked out of a zoo to express yourself when there are horses around.

'payment owed' isnt a personal transaction?
Actually, no. That is for non-goods payment (i.e. I fixed your car, so you owe me $100).

Wow, I wouldn't have guessed that. Not the first thing I learned recently.

I too purchased from Chandler, and never received my cards. My payment was $58. I have bounced back and forth (clueless about "payment owed") with payment methods and was lucky to have sent the cash as a normal purchase payment. However, I won't know for a few days whether or not I will get my refund from the paypal claim.

Also, I do know FOR A FACT that there are members on these boards that hang out with Chandler outside of the boards (in real life). I would say you have a responsibility to talk to Chandler regarding these matters. Please please help us out.

On a side note, if Chandler fails to fix this and paypal has to refund my money (or fails to refund my money), then paypal will block him from using thier services and ebay pretty much ever again. And i am almost certain you have to sign up for paypal with a social security number, so they will REALLY block him. I doubt being blocked from paypal, ebay, half.com, and all the other paypal/ebay companies is worth $100..... just something to keep in mind.

There's also a good chance paypal will get in touch with his bank anyway...

Patiently hoping Chandler steps up--

I made the second one because I forgot the log in for the first one, and the third one was for a fundraiser i did, so that I wouldn't get the money that had been donated mixed in with the money I use for online shopping, or payments from things I sell on ebay. I have three because I made three. All I needed were 3 different email addresses and I have at least 15 of those.

also, just because you were blocked from using paypal doesnt mean you do not still have access to ebay. you can still use propay, moneybookers, etc as an alternative payment/purchase method.

As I don't remember the log in for the first account I essentially only have the two, one personal and one for the charity. The last time I signed up for a pay pay was this april. However I just checked there registration page and no SSN is required. Just address and phone number which can be easily faked. And when you think about it it makes sense. Paypal is not just limited to the US and if you aren't from the US you dont have a Social Security Number

That would do it. Credit Cards do need a social security number so your credit report can be updated

I just looked up CJS's posts, and it appears that he very rarely posts on the boards here.  He posted in Jan of 2009, then in Sept of 2010, then in July of 2011.  However, I think he's pretty regular at the TX tournament scene.  Before getting all worked up about him, I would try sending a PM to tcmgoingon60 who runs the tournaments down there.  He can probably get in touch with Chandler much faster than anything on these boards.

I know its been a few weeks, but sometimes people are just really slow sending stuff.  I wouldn't give up hope yet on these trades.

I PM'd him about a week ago, but all he said was that he wouldn't see him till mid-september... not much help there

Actually that is a help.  Based on Chandler's regularity of posts, mid-September is probably sooner than he would visit the forum.  And based on this info, my guess is that this will probably be resolved within the next month.  Either Chandler will send out the cards on his own in the next few weeks, or Terry will talk to him at their tournament, and take care of things there.

I don't know Chandler personally, but I know Terry's a good guy, and I also know that Chandler's been around for many years in the game.  I am confident that this is all going to work out.

I didn't know ANY friends of Chandler (until I posted this) which is why I worded my topic title the way I did. I understand you are optimistic Mark, but saying it will "eventually" get resolved is not comforting to two people who lost a fair amount of money.

Since you are not in Cpt. Jaeger's or my shoes, you can afford the luxury of being okay or forgiving of a "slow sender."  I don't think people should be "slow senders."  I gave 3 weeks (which is slow) after I was told by PM that the cards were in the mail.  I lost more confidence that Cpt. Jaeger had been waiting longer, and Chandler is barely on the boards.

FWIW, I am forgiving.  If it is resolved (by resolved I get the money back or cards), then I will delete this thread.
