lackey troubles likely because I stink at computers

Hey,
I'm trying to download lackey. I clicked on the link above, and I received the zipped file.
I watched the video, but it didn't help because 1) he was on a Mac & 2) he didn't have the trouble messages that I did.

Here are the messages I received when I clicked on the .exe file in the zipped folder:
"can't start because libcurl.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
"....... SDL2_sound.dll......."
"........SDL2.dll......"
"........SDL2_image.dll......."

I'm not sure where to find those 4 programs unless it is talking about lackey and that was never installed. Is it asking for me to redownload lackey or asking me to do something that I have to do though I have no clue of how or where to start?

I hope to get this up soon, so I can get some practice in before Nats.
Oh, one more thing & possibly related info: a month or so back, my computer upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10.

Those are four extensions for the Lackey application. They should be part of the Lackey download so I'm not sure why you would be missing them.

Lackey runs just fine in Windows 10 so that shouldn't be the issue...you could try sending MJB a PM as he's pretty good at troubleshooting these kinds of issues.  8)

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Instead of simply double-clicking the exe, can you try doing a right click and then select the "Run as administrator" option?

Ah, I believe you tried running it while it was still in the zipped folder. Is this correct? You have to unzip the downloaded file first.

I'll second this, since I had this same issue when I tried earlier this week. I kept getting the SDL2 error until I moved the lackey folder from the 7zip temp file to my downloads.
ANB is good. Change my mind.

Okay....I'm seriously a noob and I don't even have a medal to show for it this time.

Initially, I tried running the .exe from the downloads but without unzipping it.  Once I unzipped it, then it gave me the option to "Run as Administrator."

EDIT:  Yeah it's definitely working now. Thanks for the pointers everyone.  Now to get my decks in and some practice before Nats.
