I just wanted to post a request for my wife. She is pregnant and due in February. She has been having frequent contractions over the past few days, and her doctor is very concerned. She has been put on "bed rest" and may need to be admitted to the hospital if the contractions get more frequent.

In spite of modern medicine, this would be much too soon for a healthy birth. Our prayer is that the contractions will slow down or stop so that the baby will have the necessary time to develop vital organs.

Tim, I hurt for you and your family. I remember the feelings that my wife and I had when we had troubles during pregnancy. It was so hard to not feel overly anxious or depressed. I will pray for the life of your baby, and for the peace of God to flow over your family.

I appreciate your continued support. As an update, the doctor has given her two types of medicine that are intended to slow the contractions. The first one did not work. We are still evaluating the second. Her contractions are still frequent and still a concern. If things continue as they are, she will likely be hospitalized in the next couple of weeks. She is 25 weeks pregnant, which is still too early for vital organ development (particularly the lungs). For reference, 37 weeks is considered the earliest safe delivery timeframe. Anything earlier typically requires the baby to be in the Intensive Care Unit, hooked up to tubes and IVs.

God's plan is always perfect, so I must fight the temptation to become discouraged. Sometimes it is harder than other times, so I apologize for any offense I may have given in the past month, or any that I may give in the near future. I will try to guard my words from my emotions.
