Is there going to be type 2 multi? Also please post the schedule asap so I know how much money to bring and what decks to build.

$8 to play.  So Type 1 - 2P, Type 1 - Multi, Type 1 - Teams, and Type 2 - 2p are free (after the $8 of course.)  Closed deck is $15, more details on this at the tournament!

So we are actually not playing Type 2 - Multi, sorry!  The main reason is that none of the guys down here (well I guess its up here for you GA guys) have ever played Type 2, but me.  I'm also really the only one who has enough cards to build more than 1 Type 2 deck, so it has just never been played here.  We are throwing it in this tournament to get our feet wet!  In other words, a true Type 2 player has a major advantage!  Just don't take us tooooooo lighty!  ;)

As for the schedule, Friday we will play Closed deck, then Type 1 - Multi.

Saturday, I'm probably going to open with Type 2, just so all the guys from out of town can play, I know some tournaments run long.  Then play Type 1 - 2p, and then Type 1 - Teams.

That schedule sounds good.

I am hoping to drive down with Matt but I don't know if I can handle the expectations.  The way he is talking about me, I don't know if I can live up to the expectations.  But I think I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, I've really only beat up on Matt.

Looking forward to it and maybe someday our regions can rival the Minnesotans.

I won't be able to make it because I'm playing a show that weekend :(
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

THIS JUST IN!   :D

On Saturday morning from 8 to 9:30 A.M. there will be a boy scout fundraiser at the church we are playing at.  (This will NOT effect the tournament)  For $5 you get all you can eat pancakes, so if any of you guys like pancakes bring an extra $5 and eat them until you barf!  (Hopefully giving us newbies an opportunity to beat you while you are distracted!  :D)

Not only did I play t1, I won both t1 2 player and t1 multi, and got third in type 2 2 player lol. I did not see that one coming. Ok I played a white brown deck for type 1 multi and asked Chris what my second color for offense should be and to give me a challenge, he said red...dang it. So I used a nt white offense, with an ot banding with 3 negates for red. It worked very well and the defense was a small brown. But in type 1 2 player I used Z temple priests, just the minimum though, with a demon crimson/orange heavy defense with a Gomer, Judas and 7 sons. The defense was nasty and was the reason I won. I played Matt Archibald first turn and he was playing an A-bomb deck but since his converts did not work and he got A-bomb very, very late I won. I kept looking at his hand with Urim and attacking when he only had discard EE"s in his hand while I had Cov w/ Phineas. He eventually A-bombed it but it was too late. So me using demons, and him getting a not normal draw won me the game rather easily. Second round was verse Daniel and he used a hybrid offense, some teal, a capn, a TGT character, I didn't see TGT, with a Babylonian defense. His defense was good but my defense did not give up any and I eventually got my Z temple band out and he could not really hurt me. So I won pretty big there too, I think both games were 5-1...correct me if I am wrong, or some where around there. Last round was verse John, aka Galadgaywn and he was using a Zeddy/DoM for defense, but other than that no defense. His offense was a nt white women deck with some Samaritans and TGT females. He forgot to add ACiB, which greatly changed our game because he told me at the beginning of the game he forgot it, so I took out his entire offense. I attacked and got 4 and went for 5 and got FA'ed. I won next turn but was surprised I did not use one dominant minus a burial becuase I thought I was about to get an anti burial. So I won that game 5-1 too I think. Overall I went 3-0 with around a +12 differential. For a type 2 player that is not too bad. Type 2 I used a Zeb deck which was 100 cards and it was nasty. It was straight blue with stand alones, trembling demons, Uzzah's, Nadab Abihu, with sites and Wastelands. So I did a site stall and got my hand down to 0-3 every turn. I also had my Jacobx4, Answer to Prayer x4, and RTC x5 so it was nasty but I would not use it after a state tournament probably. I beat Daniel first round and he was using black and something I forgot, and I won really quick. Second game I played Matt who had a combo deck but had his hand clogged so I kept attacking with Dan instead of Zebby to make him discard a vital piece to his combo, sorry but it was funny but mean at the same time. Matt did not have good luck against me that tournament, he got all his ctb cards but no green heroes, so another not normal draw for him and I won pretty quickly. Last round was against Clift. He can post on this game.

Anytime Daniel.
To add onto my post of my and Clift's game-
So last round for me and Clift are both 2-0 with a very high differential, I think I was plus +11 and he was +4, maybe? so ok I had a good differential at least. Anyway whoever won got first, whoever lost probably got third depending on John's outcome. Ok so me and him start playing I hope to get a Zebulun because he is using Speed Camp, oh wait they made a ruling so it's not good anymore right? WRONG, it did the same thing to 3 different decks 3 times in a row. The hand limit does not matter it still does a total lock down and you can do nothing so re-evaluate the new rule because this does nothing to SitC. Anyway I do not get a Zebby first turn which was odd and he locked me down within three turns. I managed to get 2 lost souls. John won his game which gave him second and pushed me to third. I hate Speed Camp.

Yeah I had prettyu bad luck against tyler lol  In the type 1 game I got my Three nails the very first hand and he got his DoN either inthe first or 2nd hand.  I put Three nails up when I saw a PotW come out and he quickly DoN'ed it...it was all down hill from there.  I could have probably given him a run for his money if A-bomb had come out early, but about 3/4 through the game I finally got to shuffle my deck and found that it was the very bottom card!  I eventually got it and was able to nuke Phineas and his z-temple, but his last rescue was phineas -zeal and there wasn't anything I could do about that.

In Sealed we played round robin and I had two wins going into my game against tyler.  I drew out 5 of my 7 LS's within the first three turns and I drew out the 6th by turn 5.  He drew out two LS's one of whihc I resuced and the other he rescued with his SoG...after that he didnt draw a single LS for probably the first 8 or 9 turns or so.  Tyler was quite the gentleman and offeredt o shuffle his deck (again, he had of course shuffled it at the beginning of the game) and he the drew a LS. but by then he had his defense set and I was toast.

In type II I had a pretty good deck and I had the combo to win...I just couldn't get my provisions played because I had no green heros.  I eventually had to use Rehoboam to set up a side battle between two of my gold heros to play provisions on one of my heros using gideons call.  By that time he was up 6-2 and he won the next time I drew out a LS.  To really rub salt in the wounds, I got two green heros on the draw after I played the rehoboam play.  :-\

NBeedless to say I had a pretty good time....except when I played tyler lol.  I guess he is my kryptonite

Lol I loved that report Matt. It was not anything I did it just everything went against Matt when I played him. Yeah the sealed game was crazy, my deck was shuffled but with 5 of my lost souls in the bottom 25 or so cards. Fun tournament I just wish we had more time to play teams.

By the way Matt, I beat Clift, but Clift then beat Daniel giving him a positive differential, barely winning ahead of you!  Unless of course you beat him head-to-head (if so make him mail you your Redemption Cash)!   :D  (I forgot to check head-to-head before I gave him the 3rd place prize  :()

If you guys did like the idea, I think I'll do closed deck at all of my tournaments, with the round robin style.

Yeah, I beat him head to head but I am unsure as to how the tie breakers go.  I dont know if it is head to head first of LS differential first.

I think it goes to differencial only if there are multiple players tied.  I don't know.  Tyler, Clift & you each had 9 points from 3 wins.  Tyler had a + 8 or 9, Clift had a + 1 or 2, and you had an even 0.  I had twelve points and won first, Tyler had the most points between you three and I know he beat you, I can't remember if he Clift, if so then I actually owed you the 3rd place for the head to head win.  But if Tyler lost to Clift, I guess that goes to our discussion about a three way tie, and then goes by differential.   ???

I'm pretty sure head-to-head is first unless there is a three way head-to-head tie. (A beats B, B beats C, C beats A). In that case it goes down to LS differential.

I would say that the hand limit does slow down Speed Camp, giving the opponent at least a shot.  Even though Clift won all 3 games, in the game I played him in, I was able to discard 4 of them.  And Andrew was able to get to 6 lost souls before it took over.  So the hand limit does give opponents at least an opportunity to win!

I will say that anyone who complains about cards or styles that make people cry/dislike the game need to focus their attention on the right things!  Garden Tomb can be stopped, there are ways around pre-block ignore, site lock out is not unstoppable!  I think the things you need to watch out for are the extreme type 2 combo decks!  Andrew and I both played decks where neither of us got to play a single card for over 30 minutes!  Matt had a deck that discarded my entire deck by turn 3 or 4!  If I haven't been in this game as long as I have and knew I honestly had no chance in Type 2, with the caliber of players that were at my tournament, I would have been extremely upset by the fact that I had absolutely NO CHANCE to play a single card in 30-40 minutes and had my entire deck discarded.  I know the arguement about new players shouldn't play type 2, but that doesn't mean they won't.  All this to say, it really doesn't bother me that it happened to me, but I can see this running some "over sensitive" players away quickly.

Matt had a deck that discarded my entire deck by turn 3 or 4!

*sigh* yeah... ;D  that was fun!

I do understand that those decks can really turn off new players, but the same argument could be said for beginners in type 1.  I have had kids in my playgroup cry because they havent won a game in Redemption at a sanctioned tournament... It is a process of seeing the decks and trying to beat their strategy.
