One of these years I'll get there but with that being less then a month from the due date of my first child I should probably stay in PA

Wish I could be there but have fun :-)

Man, where ARE your priorities? Babies rarely if ever come earlier than the due date, and besides, I'm sure your wife would be just fine if you missed out on the birth of your first child because of a Redemption tournament. It is, after all, the T2 only...

Bring your box of tissues boys! Eyes will be bleeding. :)

I thought you said you were just not going to bathe...does this mean you will also be showing up in a speedo?

I think for the special category we might try a two player booster draft. You would draft on a table of 4 and then play 2 player for the rest of the tournament. And we can try a quick look after every pack is opened.

Any thoughts?

Maybe we could do a double elimination type 1 tourney that night as an alternative to those who are not interested in booster.

Played CHAOS with the good Count, Count Jr., RedWarrior, one of RedWarrior's friends and JSB on Saturday.  A CHAOS tourney would be fun.

T2 Booster or T1?

We had discussed T1, as T2 Booster runs a bit long for most people.

In the interest of being able to play more people, I agree with doing T1 Booster. I know it's the T2 Only, but we'll be playing plenty of T2.  Paying the money that would be required for a T2 booster and then only having time to play one or two rounds (as I doubt everyone will want to pull an all-nighter) wouldn't be much fun.

Chances are in favor of me being there and if I had an A game I'd bring but I kinda make up the "A" game so no worries there. You might as well reserve my bubble bath and non-alcoholic sparkling pear juice (considering it's a church, well, the church I attend specifically, I figure champagne is not a great idea).

Also, I agree with El Guardián, T1 would be more cost-efficient and more spread out. I mean, what's the point of calling it the "Type 2 Only" if we're not going to include more Type 1 than just Ironman?

@Count, ya know, we don't have to look at you to beat you, only your cards. So if you really want to win then you'll have to replace the pictures on each card with a picture of you in your flip-flops.  ;)

What is CHAOS?

I just threw out the option of type 1 tourney because not everyone likes booster wants to pay/play it. I am sure there will be plenty of other things to do if you don't want to do booster. There is always the option of pick up type 1 games and then random board games people bring... And Perkins too I guess haha. I don't want to take anybody away from Justin's booster idea so I'll crunch some numbers, look at my schedule, and respectfully retract  the type 1 tourney idea.

What is CHAOS?
Everyone brings a T1 deck and mixes them together in a pile. Everyone draws off this common pile and plays T1 multi-player.

There is a shared land of bondage.
As T2 players we would probably want to require balanced decks.
If you played in tables of four you could let the three non-current players decide who gets to block each turn.

One of the un written rules to chaos since I created it is I'm the only judge. And the rulings don't have to make sense. By the way if you are an elder you are already down one lost soul. If you're from Iowa you're down two.

That sounds really fun lets do it.

The only thing I am concerned with is matching colors... I mean if people have 4 different deck strategies it might be hard to get anything going on attack or defense. Was that a problem when you played it? That randomness of brigade might be part of the fun, not sure. What if we said brigades don't matter but identifiers do. So I could play Samuel's Edict on any character but it wouldn't always be cbn.

I could trip you instead. That might be a quicker way to go about things as you won't have to think about the best way to do it. Plus, I'll know when to jump out of the way.

Just go for his hair...that's his weak spot...kinda like Samson  ::)
That's just dirty... I'd probably end up calling Craig "Delilah" for the rest of the tourney and I'm not sure he'd appreciate that.  :P

CHAOS sounds like fun.

If we do booster it would only cost 10 dollars. All the packs plus disciples and treasures. Draft with 4 play 2 player. We can call it Type 2 Booster Draft with the 2 standing for 2 player.

Don't forget we have to leave some time for the battle of the bands. So far we have:

Billy Bang and the Explosives
Cindy and the Alstads
The Hot Timaly Band
Koala Queen
CHAOS (Craig-Lead Singer, Matt on the drums, Josh-Lead Guitar. Its a Grunge Band)

Would I be able to do Booster if I had never played Type 2? I probably don't have enough cards to make a type 2 deck so would this be a good way to start playing Type 2?

"Type 2 Booster" as he called it, is actually T1. If you've played booster draft then you know that it's usually played with 3 or 4 players but what has been suggested is that we play T1 booster draft with 2 players after drafting with the usual 4. You can certainly play booster without having played Type 2 because it's not actually Type 2. :P It was suggested earlier that we do an actual Type 2 Booster Draft but that would be costly and lengthy. The Type 2 Only would be a good way to start getting you going on the Type 2 train as you can see what decks are being played and you can also participate in the Ironman tournament which is Type 1.

If you wanted to learn how to play T2, there would be some of the Greats there who could show you some things, and lend you a deck to play in the tournament.
