Count, you remember last year when I made some last minute suggestions for your MP deck and how well that worked for you? Here's some suggestions for this year:

Offense:
Strength in Weakness
Buckler (Unlimited)
Coat of Mail (Unlimited)
Bravery of David (Unlimited)

Defense:
Saul's Javelin (WA)
Boils (Unlimited)
Baal Worship

Bill has plenty of copies of all of those so don't worry if you don't have enough copies to get four of each of those in your deck.

Remember CountFount I have your back. I could get you those cards the Guardian suggested for free. I thing his suggestions just might put you over the top again. (And not just because I will be playing multi player this year)

Would there be someone willing to lend me an extra T2 deck for the 2 player on Saturday? I'm not in a position where I would like to acquire all those cards, but I would like to try T2 at least once before I go off to college.

How many games does Ironman usually involve or do have to stay real late for that? Are there sufficient breaks in T2 to give you a chance of winning Ironman? I've never played this category, is there anything else I need to know about it?

Thanks.

I'm sure that someone will be able to provide you with a deck, and if NO ONE else Craig (The Count of Founting) usually has a few extra decks that he's made (so they shouldn't be too hard to figure out for someone new to T2 ;)).

Ironman spans throughout all of Saturday and you can play as many games as you want (but the more you play the more likely it is for you to win games). Basically you start out with a certain number of tokens (we typically will use no SA souls) and if you lose than you give one to your winning opponent and vice versa. You shouldn't have to stay real late because it usually ends around the same time T2 will be done, or at least prizes are done at the same time.

It's actually not that bad.  One player went undefeated with a CountFount deck last year. The only person the decks don't seem to work for is CountFount himself. ;)

Boy even Matt is turning on you. The Count is such a self sacrificing individual that he lets someone use his best deck. Remember CountFount I have your back. (My favorite game last year was the Counts 1-1 time out tie with Pat Wester, how could you have a 1-1 tie after 75 minutes)

I wasn't turning on teh Count--I was simply explaining one of the quaint traditions of the tournament.  One of the Count's decks will finish higher in the 2-Player tournament than the Count will. The best was last year when JSB took one of the Count's decks that folks had spent an entire thread ridiculing on the boards, and piloted it to a 4-0 record.

That's 'cause the both fell asleep shortly after the draw and napped until you woke them up for the score.  It's tough getting old, Wild Bill.

Type Minnesota

--Cost: $12 (we could also go $15 and include Womens packs if everyone was interested)
--Traditional Booster using the following packs: Unlimited, Prophets, Apostles, Patriarchs, Kings, Priests, TexP, Disciples, (Women TBD)
--Tables of 4 or 5 for drafting (want to avoid tables of 3).
--Order of opening packs will be chosen at random prior to the draft.
--Two cards will be drafted at a time.
--Upon completion of draft, players are then paired up randomly and may begin building their decks.
--Players may trade with their first round opponent.
--Each player may choose up to 3 of the following dominants to add to their deck: Angel of the Lord, Harvest Time, Christian Martyr, Vain Philosophy, Strife, Doubt (players will need to provide their own dominants and dominants cannot be traded). If a dominant is drafted, it CAN be used but there is still a 3 dominant limit. (If your name is Craig, you don't get any dominants)
--One single-color Site of any brigade per deck.
--Although this is not an official category we recommend that all decks be sleeved.
--Number of rounds to be determined by number of players.
--Experience credit rule will be used.
--Rescuer's choice rule will be used.
--Name on name bonus will be used.
--Duplicate rules for regular Booster Draft apply

I want to come and play t2, but my t2 deck is only partially completed. If possible can I borrow a deck from someone?

I'm guessing there will be some extra decks available to borrow, but it's almost always more fun to use your own deck. How close are you to completing it? There will be lots of people there willing to trade cards you need (including myself).

I'm about 75/105 cards at this point. I need some rarer cards like Rubens torn clothes though, so I may have a little trouble finding them though.

I can confirm. The entire thread was just people making fun of Count's deck.
An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.

Now if only Count had been the one to use it, we could have been making fun of ProfA all year... ::)

For signature changing purposes, I still think it should have counted that in the head-to-head matchup Priests & Persians (piloted by JSB) destroyed ProfA running his Creepers deck.

Catch phrase from the game, "Well I'll be danged! I didn't know that Covenant with Levi had a second special ability." ;)

To be fair, he didn't necesarily beat my Creepers deck so much as he beat my Zebulun deck. Since the entire strategy of the offense was nullified by Haman's Gallows.

I think the 4-0 record is more of a testament to JSBs skilled play (in addition to his annoying knack of having just the right deck, intentionally or otherwise, to stymie whatever strategy I am using) than it is to the deck itself. JSB is kind of like MacGyver in that way I suppose. He just takes whatever he has around him and uses it to accomplish amazing things.

That said, I think Persians and Priests might have a shot this year. Since, you know, I'll be the one using them.*

Looks like we will have a good turnout this year. Iowa Wisconsin, KC, Pennsylvania and the Minnesota gang. I think it's going to be a tough one, a good deck tester.

I think that if anyone chooses to use Harvest Time, Doubt, and Strife that they should only have to rescue 4 Lost Souls each game unless their opponent is using the same set of 3. :P

Travel details

Justin has agreed to let me stay with him for Saturday and Sunday night following the tournament but I still need to find a location for Thursday night prior to the tournament. I also need a ride from the air port on Thursday.

I arrive in MN at 1:20pm on the 27th. If anyone in the area could possibly pick me up and allow me to crash at your house for Thursday night I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

We will be doing type "S" (aka type speedo) Saturday when we are on lunch break. everytribe and I haven't ironed out all of the detail yet, however, we agree it should look something like this:

Snow Swimming

And I thought the reason you could never hear the words "National Champions" in Minny-soda was because they didn't have athletes in Football, Baseball, or Basketball. It isn't true that they don't have athletes in Minnesota, it is that they start them at a young age in the lesser known sports like Snow swimming, cat juggling, and counting to "5" without using your toes. Good for you Minny-soda.
