Although I haven't played any Redemption in almost two years, I'm planning on going to Nationals this year in Boston - after all, I live in Connecticut again. Mysteriously, I've only managed to find 38 of the 56 cards of my Nationals 2008 deck, with the remaining sparkly purple sleeves being filled with random crimson ECs for reasons unknown to me. (I was definitely not planning on Abijah or Alexander the Coopersmith joining the ranks of the emperors.)

I'm not asking for cards or anything, I just wanted to vent.

If you hadn't said Alexander, I might have suggest Booster Draft, but that's really strange.

Were you in the middle of changing that deck around when you took the two year break from Redemption?

Also, just curious, what cards are missing?

The missing cards are mostly good cards: Heroes, Good Enhancements, and Good Dominants. From a quick glance it seems the evil and neutral stuff is mostly intact. I think I had sorted my deck around the time I stopped, so it makes sense that similar cards would be missing.

I hadn't changed the deck around much, just added a couple RoA cards (Romans Destroy Jerusalem, for instance), but I did use the deck for sticking paper inserts in for making a card game version of Galaxy Trucker that ended up being terrible. Only today did I take the paper inserts out and notice that Buying Grain was replaced by Herod Agrippa I. I don't see why I'd break up the deck at all, but I must've...

All card boxes checked. The purple and orange ones are empty. The others are all used for other games right now (Bali, .hack//ENEMY, Malta, Dash) and don't have any foreign matter in them. I just did an inventory on all my amethyst sleeves and I'm missing 21. I might have just somehow lost 18 cards, but I don't see how...

I've just figured out the cards I'm missing. Some I have other copies of, but there are several cards I do not have other copies of.

When I started reading the list it seemed suspicious how many high-ticket cards were there, but the presence of stuff like Answered Prayer makes the theft possibility seem weird, if not necessarily unlikely.

Yeah, I don't think theft is anywhere near likely - I had my whole deck after I came back from Nationals 08, and then I never played with it again, it just stayed in my closet. I had other copies of all but 5 of those cards (site discard LS and some FOOF stuff), so maybe I'll find someone to borrow those cards from for the day. (Or, if they're all in the same tin, I can just buy another copy of the tin.)

That should help you out. If you do go with a tin, you should definitely go with Set IV. That gives you three of the cards you may not have, and it has the best cards that you could use to trade for others: Uzzah, Jacob, etc.

Thanks for doing the research (or knowing them offhand). The ones I'm missing are Asher, Simeon, JBtFG, and RTC, so that's XIV, X, XIV, and X. That's at least only two tins I'd need to get. Thanks for the heads up.

I happened to play Galaxy Trucker yesterday, and in there someone asked what this extra deck of sleeved cards was for. I forgot that I had put the prototype cards for my game Space Junk in my Redemption deck sleeves (although why I used that deck I'm not sure), and all the cards are present and accounted for. Hooray!
