Well, it's not just a fun project on the side; it's for my gen-ed program at school. Hence, I have to read it. :P

Also, we're not reading the entire opus. Just about 500 pages worth.

I have Grisham's The Testament, but I've never read it. Is it good?

I read it with my wife and we were both a bit disappointed.  It takes a REALLY long time at the beginning dealing with a lot of really immoral and unlikable characters, then shifts to an adventure in another country, and ended with a whimper.

I liked it and although it can be drawn out it does have some good christian themes to it. One Grisham novel that I really enjoyed was The Firm.

Had to read Minority Report (inspired film of same name) and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (inspired a Harrison SciFi), both by Philip K. dork, for a Film course.  Both are excellent reads if you like SciFi.

Unfortunately, I again put down Out of the Silent Planet.  Should I try skipping a few chapters to get to the stuff I would recognize from the other books?

Looks like it's back to film theory textbooks for a few weeks.  I've got some Father Brown books (G. K. Chesterton) to read as I have the time, but not a whole lot else on the list at the moment.  Might try the Bourne series (the movies are spectacular) once things slow down around midterms.

Well, now that the zombie thread has returned, I'm reading Dante's Divine Comedy. Just finished Inferno.

Yes! Blade Runner is an amazing film.

For "Out of the Silent Planet" I did have to skip a few chapters.  The beginning is kinda dry but it does get better in the middle:)

The Search for God and Guinness: A Biography of the Beer that Changed the World

by Stephen Mansfield.

They were giving away copies for free at the pub on the 250th anniversary of Guinness. The guy who writes it is associated with Daniel and my little brother's school and a father to one of the girls at my school. It's a Christian book (obviously) about the whole ministry aspect of Guinness.

Ah, so that's where Drew got it. I read a bit of it last weekend and it's pretty r0x0r.

The Federalist Papers

By, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison.

This collection of 85 letters is an amazing masterpiece of political philosophy. I find myself nodding frequently because a lot of what these Founders said can be cross-applied to modern America! It is really sad to see where this Country has come since its founding!
In the Beginning, God created Heaven & Earth. In the End, Man ignored Heaven & destroyed the Earth.
