You won't find any major denomination that doesn't believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God.  That's the denominations' stance though.  Individuals, such as Colin, don't believe that the Bible is the Word of God.

False hypothetical.
Explain why this wouldn't be a logical assumption based on your philosophy that you are espousing.

Being limitless is hardly a bad thing.
Humans without limits is most certainly a bad thing.  Assuming that you aren't just messing with me here with such a ludicrous statement, your attitude reminds me much of Adam and Eve in the Garden.  They wanted to be just like God and didn't want to have limits.  Look where that got them (and us).

I don't view the Bible as a credible source, actually.
We've already discussed this, but I will repeat that your belief on this matter will inevitably lead to your abandoning faith in God at some point in the next 10 years of your life unless you decide to believe that the Bible is credible.

The Bible is not required to be a Christian, the Apostle's Creed defines catholic (liberal connotation) Christianity.
What exactly are you saying? Are you saying that you don't have to believe the Bible to be a Christian?

I have known people like you. You want to challenge everything, believing that you can determine everything that is real by logic and your own mind. And those kinds of people always worry me. I just hope you realize that some things don't have to be proven. But if you don't believe the Bible, and don't think it's credible, then what do you beleive? Because any other faith or belief that you bring to the table I can find more faults than you can with the Bible.

Colin has stated in other threads that he believes that certain people are chosen by God to be saved (of which, he includes himself).  He has also stated that it is only done by grace, and God's grace is enough and therefore no limits or law (from the Bible) needs to be followed.  He has liberal views on several areas that I will not mention in the "off topic" forum.

"Because Elijah had prayed and had faith, God confused the army."

Did that verse say "Because God was sovereign," or "Because God had predestined Elijah to live?" No.

Answer me this... why does the Bible even talk about faith if it isn't even needed?

You'll have to wait on Colin to answer that...I was only answering what I've seen him wrote in multiple different threads.
If memory serves me right, Colin has answered that too before.  If you feel bored or a need to know the answer right now, then you can do a search of his name and view all the posts he has made.  Provided some of them weren't erased during the GREAT PURGE OF '08-'09 (I'm not exactly sure which date the purge happened.)

Research John Locke and social contract theory.
I've skimmed it. Very weak.

Not much I can do about that. Have you read Evidence that Demands a Verdict ~ Josh McDowel? I don't think you could read that and maintain your position and be intellectually honest

You can't just "decide" to believe something. If you ask "why" and the "why" cannot be answered, then you cannot make an absolute until the "why" is answered. If I psycologically tricked myself into believing the Bible to be infallible just to save my faith, I would be coating myself in deceiption. Cannot the hypothetical "truth"/ "word of God" stand up to the "why"?

I'll answer the question.

If your false hypothetical was true, yes I would take speed to help me on a paper. I don't care about legality or the ridiculous dogmas of the "holiness movement." I do, however, care about the damage to my brain, the loss of control, and hallucinations speed causes. If those did not exist and it just made me think faster (which is what Adderoll is in the first place: speed without the bad stuff), I would totally take speed. In other words, that's a ridiculous false hypothetical.

The Bible can stand up to the "why." Prove to me one instance in the Bible that you can PROVE is false. Go ahead. If you can do that, with undisputable evidence, then I will throw my Bible to the ground and renounce Christ. But you can't, because everything is true in the Bible.

Colin, the fact is that you are taking the easy way to be a Christian. In your faith, you don't have to do anything, either God saves you or you don't. You don't need faith, you don't need anything, and you might as well not be a Christian because you don't need faith, and all your focus is on the real world, because the Bible doesn't matter to you.

Do you consider yourself a Christian with this view?
