As I was finishing the script, I came across an issue. You currently have us making one page for cards that have multiple versions. However, there's only one set of categories per page. Therefore, how do you know which card or cards the categories go with? For instance. Gabriel has a Warriors and a Kings version (one is NT, the other OT), does it get BOTH "New Testament" and "Old Testament" as categories? If we add identifiers, sometimes one version of the card will have some of them, but not others and vice-versa for the other version of the card.

Would it be better to have a different page for each card so that they each get their own categories, but then link the pages somehow (with an Other Versions set of links?

I put ALL related categories for all copies of that card on one page. For example, the King of Tyrus page has both Evil Gold Brigade and Orange Brigade.

I understand that you can do that, but wouldn't it be misleading for the 'Territory Class' category, for example, to link you to a page, then you go get that card (looking at the wrong version with a different brigade or something) and find it isn't territory class?

If I did create separate pages, we can have internal links in the card box to the other versions. That way you can quickly check other versions of any card, while at the same time only finding cards that actually have the category when you link off of it?

Well, it wouldnt be misleading when you realize it has several prints, and you scroll down to see the TClass version.

I have a lot of identifiers and effects that I can add to the categories. If you follow the links from a category, it won't necessarily make it easy for you to know which of the cards has that category and which doesn't have the category.

I like the idea of having a separate page for each version of a card, then having a link to all the other versions in the box. That's my vote.

Any chance you could list the stuff you'll add on here first so I know how much is going to be added? Mostly for personal curiosity, because I was sure I got everything.  :D

In addition to some minor additional identifiers, I have all cards categorized by what effects are used in their special abilities. It helps for searches like "all 'banding' cards that are also 'Can't be Negated'.

I think Mike can give some wonderful insight into what might be the best way to organize the way the cards are displayed.  I'm curious as to what methods he think would really work.

Well, being an inclusionist, sure!
Make a banding category, but I also would like the page itself to link to bandable cards (This can be added post-script)
As to multiple prints of a card: If there's a major change (new brigade/Testament), than make an new page, with the difference in parenthesis.  I.E.
Gabriel (NT)
Gabriel (OT)
King of Tyrus (Orange)
King of Tyrus (Gold)
and linkage/explanation as such.  As for minor variations, we don't need a new page, just add the image and explanation.  Links don't go in the box though.

I don't like that. I think we should keep every copy of every card on a separate page, even Bow and Arrow. :)

hey,
Every version that is playably different should have its own page. That should include cards with different references (Michael, Gabe, etc ...), differently playable special abilities (Shadow, Battle Prayer, etc ...), and different brigades (King of Tyrus). It shouldn't include cards with different artwork (Elders of Jerusalem) or special abilities that play the same due to either re-definitions or play-as (Holy of Holies, Michael, etc ...). The pages of each card with multiple versions that all play the same should have (at the very least) an explanation of the variation if not an image of each card. The page of each card with multiple versions should be cross-linked to the other versions.

I'd like also to propose an idea that I had incorporated into my attempts to wikify the game.  I believe there should just be one page for "Lost Soul" which covers every non-ability LS in the game.

The lost Soul idea works.  I think Lambo's working on a Lost Soul template for that very thing.

I got my script working and kicked it off late last night. It finished about two hours ago (total load time of about 14 hours) and loaded about 2079 card pages. There were probably a few pages that had gotten errors and may need to be fixed up a bit. There's a few missing pictures, so if you find ones that are missing, let me know and I'll try to do an update run for the missing cards. If you find errors, I can also correct them via script if there's a lot of significant issues. Also post here if you fix up any card statistics so that I can correct them in Redemption Live! I took Schaef's suggestion and made one page with the pictures of all of the No Special Ability Lost Souls. Every other card got it's own page. I had to modify the card box information a bit to fit in all of the data that I had since an infobox only allows 10 lines of information. I didn't find that out until I started loading cartds and some went over 10 lines. Therefore, I combined the Play As/Errata with the special ability line. I combined the Found in (Card Set) with the Rarity and I combined the Verse Reference with the Verse Text to fit in 10 lines.

There are lot's of categories that I associated with each card. Enjoy!

Mike

Thank you for doing that. You just saved us MONTHS of work. Now all thats left is to tweak the pages as you said we may need to do in a few cases, and add in our own descriptions and strategies for the cards. Also, we can probably start working on pages for different special abilities and stuff as well.

I would like to nominate Mike for the title of Coolest Guy on the Planet.

I also think the menu on the left side needs alteration.  If someone could handle that or grant me the powers to fiddle around...it's just weird that at first it had "Dominants" as a menu item and now "Old Testament" and "New Testament"... it needs to be a launching point for major sections of the wiki.

Second the nomination.
I'll check out the left side thingy.
Now that Mike's had his time to shine, Brigade Leaders are a go.  Start checking your brigades for missing pages/images and other quirks.  If they keep on appearing, report them here for scriptalicious Mike to take care of.
