recent movies (still in theaters)

I just saw Marley and Me. I was really surprised it got the PG rating, I think it definatly deserved a PG-13. The story line was good however, and I enjoyed it.

Has anybody seen Bedtime Stories?

Has anybody seen Tale of Despereaux?

Has anybody seen Seven Pounds?

Comments?

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button?

Slumdog Millionaire? (This one was spectacular. I just got back from watching it)

Marley and Me was really good, it made me cry because Marley kind of looked like my dog  :'(

I enjoyed Marley and Me as well... he had a personality like my dog who died in March of last year :( So I bawled... really bad.

My six year old son and I saw Bedtime Stories. I'm not a huge Adam Sandler fan, because I feel he has a tendency to toss in inappropriate--and mostly unfunny--junk in an attempt to grab cheap laughs. (See for example all of Rob Schneider's scenes in 50 First Dates.)

Anyway, we both thought it was a rather sweet rather silly movie that was fun to watch. I wouldn't pay to see it again, but I would rent it when it comes out on DVD.

Marley and Me had quite a bit of sexuality in it. I agree it should have been PG-13. Other than that, I really, really liked it, and I almost cried. ;) (My mom was bawling.)

I thought Bedtime Stories was pretty good; I like most of Adam Sandler's stuff, but this one is one of his best. It was very cute and silly. My little brother and sister (9 and 10) loved it.

The Tale of Despereaux exceeded my expectations, although to be honest, they weren't very high to begin with. :P It was definitely more for kids - a typical fairytale plot - but I thought it was pretty good.

Doubt? Frost Nixon? Benj. Butt.? Slumdog Mill.? Anyone?

I thought Yes Man was better than Bedtime Stories.

Same... I haven't seen Doubt though. How was it? I heard the storyline was not that amazing but one of the first things I criticize when watching a movie is the acting, and I heard the acting will blow you away. But ofcourse, we are talking about Meryl Streep here.

Wrestler is going to be awesome. My friend saw it already. I cant wait to see Frost Nixon.

I forgot, I saw Yes Man also. Other than the rather inappropriate parts, which were very few, I really enjoyed it. I mean, it's Jim Carrey, really!

I just saw Bennjamin Button as well, and I was very surprised when both my mom and my older sister expressed mixed feelings about it. I thought it was really good...touching...Sorry for the lack of detail. :P

I saw Benjamin Button and it was VERY sexual. I don't recommend it to anyone. Also, it was about 2:45 minutes, and so therefore, as you might have guessed, pretty dragged out. I thought it was a cool concept, but the lengthyness and sexual content made it imo not that well executed.

I also saw the day the earth stood still. I'm not sure why that isn't just PG, there's nothing bad, just some sci-fi action. Which really just means that there (dont' read if you want to be suprised)
Spoiler (hover to show)
Other than that, no cursing, no sexuality, and actually rather cool and interesting. I enjoyed it.  :D

I'm sure it's PG-13 because it has Keanu Reeves. :P

Valkryie was fantastic. I'd recommend it. It does a good job capturing the historical facts of teh conspiracy.

Ironically, 2 of my 17 year old friends had to buy Bedtime stories in order to get into Valkryie. We had seats (they were late), but apparently the movie was sold out. Whatever. I bet the 20something girl who was selling tickets got a laugh.

Haha... I once had to do that because my girlfriend forgot her ID and wasn't allowed to buy a ticket to an R-rated movie, even though she was 20 at the time. It was pretty funny. :P
