No need to pull the respect card out. That's a line Christians use when they feel disrespected. Check back with me whenever we are discussing something you disagree with, rather than something I disagree with.

Check my New Card Ideas thread. I disagree with people that think I should rewrite it shorter.

Why is it necessary to post this thread? The summary of the first post is essentially: Why do I get -1'd? This is a stupid system. *stuff about Jesus since this is a Christian forum* How is that beneficial? I don't care if you "have the courtesy to post your thoughts and opinions". If your thoughts and opinions are unneeded, then this topic is a waste of time. This is at least the second or third thread about this issue, not even counting various threads that get derailed with complaints about getting minused. Therefore, I view this topic as a waste of time because it is redundant. Because of that, I simply minused it rather than supporting it with a post. You then again complained about being targeted, so I explained myself so that you would understand, and you proceded to call me selfish

And how was I supposed to know that these were the reasons you disagreed when all I got was a -1? I can't read people's minds, I don't know what they think unless they say/type it. The only thing I called selfish was that you assumed nobody cared about pluses and minuses just because you don't."

If you don't think being minused matters, why is this thread here?

When did I say I thought it didn't matter?

I am expressing my opinion that this thread is unnecessary with a minus rtaher than apost because it reduces forum clutter. I fail to see how that is bad at all and your arguments have all been so centered on being a victim that I am completely unconvinced so far.

I don't consider logical reasons to be "clutter" that should be avoided. Discussions cannot be carried out if arguments/opinions aren't posted to give the other side something to answer.

I'm not posting anything relevant. I was just curious to see what my total score would be for this post, just for illustrative purposes.

I don't know how long this has been an option, but I just noticed it recently. Is there a reason it's there/allowed?

Redemption is a Christian card game and I don't believe these votes contribute to the atmosphere of building each other up that we as Christians are supposed to uphold. Reading threads across the forum, I see many posts that simply have a negative vote score and nothing else. Personally, I am very discouraged by this. It seems people have taken to simply "-1'ing" a post rather than replying to it with their reasoning as to why they disagree with something that was said in that post. I don't know about you, but I don't feel very built up when I see one of my posts with -4 but nothing said in reply to it. This voting gives the opportunity for people to vote negative if they simply disagree with, or perhaps if they just don't like, what was said rather than requiring them to post reasoning for their alternative opinion and have it be open for return criticism. This, to me, doesn't seem like a good policy. If you disagree, please explain why and what I'm missing. I would be happy to hear your side of things.

EDIT: I see nothing wrong with being able to +1 a post (especially since it's less spammy than "+1 I agree" replies), I am only concerned about the -1 option.

i will simply agree with you

I may not like fish sandwiches, but I am not in the habit of arbitrarily minusing posts simply because I disagree with/don't like them. If it had been me, I would have posted expressing my opinion that fish doesn't taste very good to me and that, as a result, fish sandwiches are not yummy.
