Quote
Woe unto you who thought HP was going to make your silver deck the king of the mountain:

CARD NAME:  Pretension
CARD TYPE: evil enhancement
CLASS: territory
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS: 0/6
BRIGADE COLOR: gray
SPECIAL ABILITY: If used by a Pharisee, reveal up to two good cards in your hand.  Draw an equal number of cards and set aside a Hero in a territory (or two silver Heroes) for two turns.  Cannot be interrupted.
Pretension doesn't do anything against the High Places/Protection of Jerusalem combo...
Also, it wasn't silver that was going to get the boost, it was capture.  Silver just happened to have the card that can protect High Places.
May you prosper greatly!

Right, but what silver deck is going to be very excited about having four of their heroes set aside at once just to boost their defense?

pretension + protection of jerusalem = 4.

also, to answer tsavong's question...a type 2 deck. where this combo can become broken.

Heroes that are set-aside can't be PoJ'd.  Especially if I set them aside (w/multiples in T2) and then mass-nuke them with DD.  And you may not have said that Sean, but others did.  It's a subjective argument that I don't care to have.

For the rest of you: if you know how set-asides work, or heal cards, or Altar of Burnt Offering, you know how territory-class Enhancements work.  During your Prep or Discard Phase, play on a matching character, use the ability, discard the spent card (unless it says to "place" on something, obviously).

The reason some say Destructive Sin is better than Image of Jealousy:

CARD NAME:  Destructive Sin [new]
CARD TYPE: evil enhancement
CLASS: territory
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR: orange
SPECIAL ABILITY: Place on a Hero.  While this card remains, negate special abilities on that Hero and its owner's good Fortresses and Covenants.
SCRIPTURE:  Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.  Ecclesiastes 9:18

I don't think they're really spoilers anymore, since the set's technically been released for like 2 days now.

If you don't care to have the argument then why dignify my comment by responding?

I was responding to explain that the conversation WAS being had, whether or not you'll be playing silver for this reason, and what those people were saying about it.  I can explain a side of a discussion without entering into whether I agree or to what extent, or defend one position over another.

And here's why everyone is geeking out about Mayhem:

CARD NAME:  Mayhem
CARD TYPE: Evil Dominant
CLASS:
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR:
SPECIAL ABILITY:  Each player must shuffle hand into deck to draw six.
SCRIPTURE: Their feet run to evil, and they make hast to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.  Isaiah 59:7
