That's gotta be one of the most scripturally based SA's I've seen in awhile (not to say that other cards aren't, this one is just a very good example) And it's awesome.
P.S. Thanks again, Schaef, for providing the cure to the debilitating disease that is TIDS (TexP Information Deficiency Syndrome).
-
Thanks Shaef!
Shaef pwns TIDS
P.S. it would be helpful to post egytian cards or purple cards
-
I'm a bit disappointed with Judah. I don't get what his draw is. Actually, as I typed that I remembered it doesn't have to be one of your captured Heroes he exchanges with.
-
Yeah, you can steal your opponent's heroes with him, but then your Zebulun doesn't work. He'll be splashed into a lot of capture decks for that reason, but he probably won't make it into my Genesis deck.
-
I like them all except Jeremiah, OP. Play him with Hidden Treasures and you have Holy unto the Lord for a table clear or Burning Incense for pre-block ignore. I hope he was weakened in the final printing.

is solomon the first reprint of a promo?
-
King Ahaz, Susanna, and Darius Decree definately my favorites so far (can't wait to see whats left)
-
is solomon the first reprint of a promo?
No, I think that would be Joshua (but he was reprinted as another promo)
Or if you don't count that, then Caleb :)

Susanna + Bronze Laver = better mill decks
I like it.
-
You could throw in Zeresh and Haman for added stacking, as well.
-
Seriously? I was hoping she would have some sort of downside...Well, at least she isn't a TGT hero... ::)
You have 4 females available for X. You draw 4 cards. It's Salome, Mary/mother/James, Son of God and Red Dragon. Three have to go on the bottom. Have fun.
-

Neither of those create a mill. Sus and BL provide for a constant turnover of cards, like a mill. Zeresh just plucks cards.

I'd probably take Salome (in most situations) then I can shuffle my deck and use Susanna again. Unless I have absolutely no defense and lost souls
-
can we spoil tep if we have them? i got my shipment of tep from ups just seconds ago. fast shipping! :)
-
With Susanna... all lost souls go under your deck too... unless you want one ; -P

that clause wasn't on the website the first day. i put my order in the first day...im assuming he added that clause because he wont be able to ship new shipments out until after nationals.

CARD NAME: Herod’s Treachery
CARD TYPE: evil enhancement
CLASS: territory
IDENTIFIERS: X = number of good brigades opponent has in play
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR: multi-color
SPECIAL ABILITY: Place on a Herod. That Herod may use evil Enhancements regardless of brigade. You may discard this card to force X Heroes to withdraw from battle.
SCRIPTURE: And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. Matthew 2:8
-
SPECIAL ABILITY: Place on a Herod. That Herod may use evil Enhancements regardless of brigade. You may discard this card to force X Heroes to withdraw from battle.
I assume this has to be used right when that Herod enters battle? By its wording it really seems like it has to happen when it's played, but since it's territory-class, that's weird.
-
It can be used whenever, I would think. :-\

wow...... few people probably know that word lol its french right? therefore explaining why the "et" at the end is pronounced "a".

A trebuchet is like a catapult. ...

Well, it gets placed when played, and can be played outside of battle because it's TC. Like other placed cards, it grants an ability to the Herod on which it is placed as long as it's hanging around there. Obviously, the ability to play Enhancements is limited to times when it's normally allowed, which 98% of the time means in battle. Then, you can chuck it to cause Heroes to withdraw.
I pushed pretty hard for a strong withdraw theme for Herods because it's different from the norm, and because there's not a lot of protection against withdrawal like there is for capture or discard. Also, gold already has a few cards that do this.
Bryon wanted to see more deck discard and capture, and there's plenty of that as well. In fact, put this card on the new Herod Agrippa II for a nice double-shot:
CARD NAME: Herod Agrippa II
CARD TYPE: evil character
CLASS: Warrior
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS: 6/6
BRIGADE COLOR: gold
SPECIAL ABILITY: Negate protect abilities on Fortresses. If a hero withdraws from battle, you may capture it. May band to a Sadducee. Cannot be negated.
SCRIPTURE: And on the morrow, when Agrippa was come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and was entered into the place of hearing, with the chief captains, and principal men of the city, at Festus' commandment Paul was brought forth. Acts 25:23
-

also, am i missing something, or is destructive sin > image of jealousy?
Ohhhhh yes. DS is FTW. If the wording is the same as what I remember, it stops cards that can get rid of it as well. :D
Orange will be a force to be reckoned with.
Since its revealed now, I'd just like to say that Darius's Decree is going in every single deck I make now.
-
as far as i can tell, dd would primarily pretty much just stop set-asides and heroes set-aside. why would that make it staple to you?
also, yeah...deceptive sin stops most of the cards that would stop it as well (if you're referring to the covenant thing). ds would definately be staple if i had a way to work in orange in all my decks. maybe splash priests kot and potw in all my decks?
-
Wtb more spoiled cards, Reg update is gonna come out around the same time as Starcraft 2

And it stops ET, Jacob, Hidden Treasures, etc... no more pre-block enhancements against me.

There seem to be alot more Evil cards in this set than good cards... ::) I like it
-
If Schaef's wording is correct, I think DD would also stop enhancements from being played in hero-hero side battles.

Oh yes Bryon even said defenses get much more of a boost this time around and I agree. :)
About time too, FooF and RoA largely gave offenses some MASSIVE power.
-
i would definately make it staple in t1 multi, with all the speed/heavy hero offenses, plus the suprlus of pentecosts/first fruits/feast of trumpets. im sure dd will catch one player with all his heroes set aside and discard them all :D
-
Hehehehehe, indeed. That card, Grapes, and Mayhem will certianly shake up multi. ;D

If you like that one Caleb, you're really gonna like another one. :o

SOMEONE JUST LIST ALLL THE CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ???
Edit: plz
-
truth be told, all the brigades got ~3 new cards at the outset, but as we expanded it from 50ish to 60, I think the evil cards came out more towards the end. At least two of the last 4-5 cards added were evils (Treachery and Destructive Sin were I think the last new adds). I've tried to show a little bit from each brigade, keeping in mind that Bryon has already shown off a few cards. Plus, I haven't really shown much of the Arts/Forts/Dominants yet, and those are a more even mix of helping good and evil than it might seem from what we've been showing off.
I might break out more of those support cards later, but for now, I need to finish this round of evil cards:
CARD NAME: Philistine Garrison
CARD TYPE: evil character
CLASS: warrior
IDENTIFIERS: Generic
STATS: 12/8
BRIGADE COLOR: black
SPECIAL ABILITY: Immune to lone Heroes.
SCRIPTURE: And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will shew you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel. I Samuel 14:12
This plus 12-Fingered Giant plus Phil. Outpost (not yet shown) equals kablam.
Hehehehehe, indeed. That card, Grapes, and Mayhem will certianly shake up multi. ;D
There's another one you all haven't even seen yet that will be added to this sentence for sure; I've been sandbagging that one on purpose. :maul:
-
Yay! I can't wait to start playing with these new cards.

When I saw that card, it was MASSIVELY broken, but.... it didnt work with 12 fingers...... I'm scared to see how it changed. :o

yea another lone heros character!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
-
in black, a color that definately needed some boosting.
i like the 12 offense too...immunity + more offense to kill that lone hero :)

How dare you try to betray our trust?!

Darius's Decree. BTW bubbleboy if you read this, DD is the card I was talking about when you said you werent excited until they got protection.
Just dont let them play AoCP IN battle and you're in business. In fact... phillies get a little extra punch to stop that. HEHEHEHE.
-
Well, it's a nice card, and it will probably go in most if not all of my decks from now on, but it's still not as useful as a protect fort. The fort that they did get is fun, but it still isn't protection. :-\
-
Ehh, IMO its better than protection. ;D
At least, the version I saw was. Besides, do you really want every brigade to get the same boring fortress? I prefer each civilization to have their own unique way to be protected. Makes it more interesting.

Philistines already have a protection Fortress. It is called Temple of Dagon. You may have heard of it?
-
Here's a little hint about mayhem:
It's an evil dominant that targets all players including yourself
-
Nope, never heard of it. It protects them from being returned to hand by a White card, or something about as useful, right?

Pretension doesn't do anything against the High Places/Protection of Jerusalem combo...
Also, it wasn't silver that was going to get the boost, it was capture. Silver just happened to have the card that can protect High Places.
-
Right, but what silver deck is going to be very excited about having four of their heroes set aside at once just to boost their defense?
-
Four?
-
pretension + protection of jerusalem = 4.
also, to answer tsavong's question...a type 2 deck. where this combo can become broken.
-
Heroes that are set-aside can't be PoJ'd. Especially if I set them aside (w/multiples in T2) and then mass-nuke them with DD. And you may not have said that Sean, but others did. It's a subjective argument that I don't care to have.
For the rest of you: if you know how set-asides work, or heal cards, or Altar of Burnt Offering, you know how territory-class Enhancements work. During your Prep or Discard Phase, play on a matching character, use the ability, discard the spent card (unless it says to "place" on something, obviously).
-
The reason some say Destructive Sin is better than Image of Jealousy:
CARD NAME: Destructive Sin [new]
CARD TYPE: evil enhancement
CLASS: territory
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR: orange
SPECIAL ABILITY: Place on a Hero. While this card remains, negate special abilities on that Hero and its owner's good Fortresses and Covenants.
SCRIPTURE: Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good. Ecclesiastes 9:18
-
one of my favorite cards evar. so so good. just have to find a way to work orange into all my decks :)
-
Deceiving spirit ;D
-
thats a really good one...but i was actually thinking of splashing kot and potw. :) splash defenses will make a return and defeat tgt, yes!
edit: ooo theres also the terrifying beast, winged lion, and all those other cool hybrid orange demons from roa...

For srs, someone post the card list while Scheaf isn't looking!

If you don't care to have the argument then why dignify my comment by responding?
I was responding to explain that the conversation WAS being had, whether or not you'll be playing silver for this reason, and what those people were saying about it. I can explain a side of a discussion without entering into whether I agree or to what extent, or defend one position over another.

And here's why everyone is geeking out about Mayhem:
CARD NAME: Mayhem
CARD TYPE: Evil Dominant
CLASS:
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR:
SPECIAL ABILITY: Each player must shuffle hand into deck to draw six.
SCRIPTURE: Their feet run to evil, and they make hast to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. Isaiah 59:7
-
speed almost........hmmmmm Feast of trumpets as a dominant
-
like speed needed even more support... :)
-
Hey, at least the way it's worded keeps you from being able to abuse it with Ariana.
-
It can be used against speed as well.
Oh dear, what happened to your full hand of cards? Oh I'm sorry, they're back in the deck. Oh me oh my!
-
SoG
NJ
AotL
CM
DoN
AoCP
HT
GoYS
FA
Buckler
That was easy.
Technically yes, but let's shoot our goal a bit lower, after all dominants are one of the games signatures.
Urim Thumiumn
Search (both versions)
Lost souls card
The Garden Tomb
Sin in the camp
False peace
Hidden Treasures
Ethiopian Treasurer
Jacob (foof)
Gifts of the Magi
If anyone wants to talk about that list I will be happy to give many reasons.

More fun with deck disturbance and Lost Soul fishing:
CARD NAME: Samaritan Water Jar
CARD TYPE: Artifact
CLASS:
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR:
Original SPECIAL ABILITY: Discard this card to reveal the top 3 cards of an opponent's deck (or 9 if a Samaritan Hero is in play) and set them aside. Put Lost Souls in play instead. When that deck has no cards, return those cards from set-aside to deck.
SCRIPTURE: The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? John 4:28-29
-
:O Loving Water Jar. Very much.
Question, though. When the cards are returned to deck, do they get shuffled or no?
-
i see no reason whatsoever to not make the water jar a staple for all t1 decks. robbing your opponent of 3 cards (or 9?!?!) at the cost of 1 card is a VERY GOOD exchange. i love it.
-
set all hero cards aside and activate darius' decree
-
Only if you've already killed their Chariots of Fire. Otherwise it's pointless.
-
only if u consider fun pointless
-
i haven't seen chariots played much recently >.>
-
That's disapointing. The old water jug was so much cooler.
-
only if u consider fun pointless
Fun, yes, but he has a point. This only sets aside the deck for a time, then brings it back after the rest of your deck is gone. If you discard the Heroes, they're in your discard pile and subject to the 80 billion ways to bring back Heroes. Honestly, I find it's better to leave them aside where they're out of my hair. That's why I'm such a fan of Two Possessed. In the right situation, it's basically a permanent set-aside.
-
Not to mention it might help them get to that Son of God.
-
Now I have to come up with something as cool as the last couple I dropped... not likely to happen... let me look...
CARD NAME: Axe
CARD TYPE: evil enhancement
CLASS: Weapon
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS: 3/2
BRIGADE COLOR: Crimson
SPECIAL ABILITY: If used by a Babylonian, you may discard this card to discard a Fortress. Opponent may discard one of his Sites instead.
SCRIPTURE: And he shall set engines of war against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers. Ezekiel 26:9
-
When I saw that, I had to wonder... was that card based off my design I made for a constest way back when?
(https://www.cactusforums.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi189.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz18%2FLambo_Diablo_Svtt%2FAxe.jpg&hash=ca131ebcdba626348966a1eaf67df0eb2b0f59fe)
-
I've liked axe a lot for a long time. Even if Crimson is more easily negateable than most, it's loaded with goodies.
-
Samaritan's Water Jar is way OP. 9 cards? You've got to be kidding me.
Axe is a great addition.
-
I can count the number of Samaritans on one hand.
-
Now I have to come up with something as cool as the last couple I dropped... not likely to happen... let me look...
You could always drop tGoH... that one's pretty cool. ;)
-
If by cool you mean wall of text, yeah.
-
Okay.
CARD NAME: The Gates of Hell
CARD TYPE: evil fortress
CLASS:
IDENTIFIERS: Plays to set-aside area
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR:
SPECIAL ABILITY: At any time, you may discard the bottom card of deck. If it is an orange demon or a Lost Soul, place it in your territory instead. You may discard this card to add your demon to the battle.
SCRIPTURE: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
See also: Wandering Spirit ;)
-
That's some really good demon recursion going on there.
-
I know somebody's going to eventually find some way to insanely abuse it. :)
-
Wow...Who is switching to Orange? hehehehe
:)
In Christ,
Bryan
-
Can you do Flax next? Bryon already half spoiled it anyway.
-
Question. Who here thinks Orange might actually be used in MN after this set?
-
all i can say is foily wow
-
From what I hear, MN might use it just a little bit. Not much, but a little bit.
-
I don't think these have been spoiled yet. I was able to buy/trade for a complete set at Nats. Here's a few nice ones for ya.
CARD NAME: Magic Charms [new]
CARD TYPE: artifact

SCRIPTURE: ‘Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I am against your magic charms by which you hunt souls there like birds. I will tear them from your arms, and let the souls go, the souls you hunt like birds. Ezekiel 13:20
-
CARD NAME: Philistine Outpost [new]
CARD TYPE: evil fortress
CLASS:
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR:
SPECIAL ABILITY: When you are attacked, you may discard this card or an evil card from deck to search discard pile for a generic Philistine and place it in your territory. Protect Sites from being placed beneath decks.

-
YAY! The version of Philly Outpost I saw before had no cost. I love what you guys did with it. Being able to discard from the deck rather than hand is a LOT more flexable. ;D
Question is... what became of the Philly Armorbearer being generic ruling?
-
By request:
CARD NAME: Stalks of Flax
CARD TYPE: artifact
CLASS:
IDENTIFIERS:
STATS:
BRIGADE COLOR:
SPECIAL ABILITY: On activation, discard this card to exchange two O.T. human Heroes in your territory with two Heroes in an opponent's territory for two turns.
SCRIPTURE: But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. Joshua 2:6
-
show everyone how powerful a certain Babylonian King is
-
CARD NAME: Nebuchadnezzar
CARD TYPE: evil character
CLASS: warrior
IDENTIFIERS: Babylonian King
STATS: 6/8
BRIGADE COLOR: Crimson
SPECIAL ABILITY: If no Daniel Hero is in play, search deck for an O.T. crimson card and add it to hand or battle. Cannot be negated.
There was debate over whether the condition of the Daniel Hero was for the entire card or only for whether it cannot be negated. I don't remember the final outcome, so sorry this one is a little foggier than most.
-
I highly enjoy Philly Outpost.
-
Nice, I love the lost soul fishing ability Gold is getting for some help, as well as the boost my Philly type 2 defense got. I also think the new artifact shown so far have been awesome.
