I personally like the style of fantasy that accumulates stats over the entire year rather than the head to head style.  If you like that style, it is available on yahoo as well as other providers.
Oh!  That's how this is functioning.  I was wondering if we were going head-to-head.  This'll be a nice change-of-pace, then.  :)

Okay, can anybody help me out....Is Tejada on probation in general or probation from baseball?
I don't know whether to keep him (or keep him in the lineup ) or sub him out for a slightly less efficient SS.

Any Help?

It appears that his probation won't restrict his playing.

thanks Sean...that makes me feel better...I picked up a okay SS just in case.

*EDIT*  Actually, "okay" is relative to that I have never played a fantasy baseball team and I'm assuming they're okay.  I'm not sure how the points work until the season starts.  I know what scores but I don't know which category weighs heavier than others.  I tried to load up on stars.  Especially my pitching staff.

Each stat is "weighed" equally.  If you have the most HRs then you get 12 points.  If you have the second most HRs you 11 points.  Each category has this system so you take 12 and multiply it by the number of categories to determine the maximum number of points you could get.

An example would be I am 1st in HR and RBI but only 6th in Steals and Runs.  I would get 12 for HRs and RBI but only 6 for Steals and Runs so my total score would be 36.  Where as if somebody else was 3rd best in all 4 stats they would receive 10 points for each and be better than my 36 total points with their 40.
May you prosper greatly!

That sounds pretty good!
Hopefully, I will take 1st in Ks and some other stats my team is good in.  I doubt I will take 1st in homeruns though unless several of my guys have breakout years.

A common occurrence is that people will make trades in order to improve in certain categories.  You may find that you need to do that in the even that you are really low in one category and really high in another.

Okay, April is over.  Time to review how my drafted team has performed, although we already know it's cruddy.  Here's how my first nine picks fared:

1. Jimmy Rollins, .207
2. Prince Fielder, .234
3. CC Sabathia, traded for Jon Lester, 1-2  5.40
4. Brian Roberts, .356 8 2B
5. Geovany Soto, waived
6. Magglio Ordonez, waived
7. Ryan Zimmerman, traded for Brad Hawpe, waived
8. Ryan Ludwick, .297 5 HR
9. Ervin Santana, on DL so waived

I know there's five more months but that's just pathetic.   :-\

Man...lol...I really drafted terribly in this one.  I'm leading the league by 18 points in my Yahoo Public League.

my batters are holding up..I think I'm close to top 6 in all offensive categories

pitching is another story:  I can't seem to find a good combination.  All my "headliners" are off to rocky starts.  Namely Oswalt who I dropped and Beckett is frustrating me too.  On another tangent, I partially wish they would count Zambrano for pitching and batting (he's doing pretty good).  I should have moved Santana higher up my draft wish list.  Oh well, hopefully these boys will pull me through in the long haul.

I don't know the stratagy of Fantasy stuff, but my pitcher's aren't doing much. I also was using Gomez instead of Kubal, and Kubal was on fire, and Gomez was dead for most of the early season. if only I followed baseball while school was still around...

Ouch!  Wolverines forgot to put A-Rod into the starting lineup.  He hit a 3-run homer in his first at-bat back from the DL.  Wow!

Of course, I'm pretty happy in my other league as I started A-Rod.   ;)

My team is doing good.  Kind of surprising because some of the guys I only drafted because I got their autograph at spring training this year.  Ethier, Kemp, and Loney.
I never want to grow up, hmmm maybe thats why I'm a youth pastor.

Having a lot of players from the same team is always risky though.  It will be interesting to see how the Dodgers do without Manny in their line-up.

Manny Ramirez was suspended for 50 games for violating MLB's substance abuse policy.

7. Ryan Zimmerman, traded for Brad Hawpe, waived

Stamp, I can't thank you enough for that trade!  I was just looking for a decent 3rd basemen, not a 30 game hit streak monster!  He has far exceeded my expectations (decent hitter with a fair amount of HRs).  I know you are probably kicking yourself but who knew he was a diamond in the rough.

Now, if I can find some diamonds in pitching (i'm last in ERA and WHIP, pretty low on Ws).  I thought I had a good staff except they can't hold it together.  Oswalt started waaaaayyyyy too slow.  Becket is winning but is ERA is atrocious.  I'm shuffling pitchers just to find a rotation that will work.  Oh and Zambrano is hurt for a few weeks.  He was my K stud.

Whodathunk?!?!   :D

I'm glad Zimmerman is working out for you.  I have him in a couple of other leagues.  Believe it or not I just picked him up as a free agent in one league just two weeks ago!

Well, my team is scratchign and clawing its way back to respectability and up the standings.  Rollins and Fielder are starting to get back to normal form.  Aaron Hill is my team surprise.  I picked him up as a free agent early on.  I now have two of the best 2nd basemen: Hill and Brian Roberts.  One may be avilable for trading to someone in the near future.  it all depends on my current crop of outfielders.  Pena has been giving me a bunch of homers.  I'm tops in assists, although I have far too many errors.

How many of you manage your team on a daily basis?

I know I do.  I want to maximize the amount of points that I can potentially get.  It's the only way to catch first.  Plus, I LOVE baseball.
