Hey,

I have once again updated the Career RNRS Spreadsheet.  You can download it here (warning: this file is 12+ MB).

Some notables from the year:

- 173 players won their first RNRS ponts ever in 2009 (and 460 players overall won RNRS points).
- The "1000 Point Club" grew from three to seven with Ben Shadrick, Ben Arp, Sam Nurge, and John Michaliszyn joining Justin Alstad, Tim Maly, and Chris Bany.
- Tim Maly (T1-2P) became the first player to total over 500 points in a single category.
- The six category leaders are: T1-2P Tim Maly, T2-2P Justin Alstad, T1-MP Justin Alstad, T2-MP Justin Alstad, SD-2P Ben Shadrick, and SD-BD Ben Shadrick.
- Nine players had over 200 points this year and two players (Josh Randolph - 312 and Gabe Isbell - 309.5) had over 300 points this year.

The top ten all time RNRS leaders are now:

(1) Chris Bany             1409
(2) Tim Maly               1394.7
(3) Justin Alstad          1285.9
(4) John Michaliszyn     1107.5
(5) Sam Nurge             1105.6
(6) Ben Arp                 1048.1
(7) Ben Shadrick          1027.5
(8 )Gabe Isbell             948.5
(9) Eric Largent            913.5
(10)Josh Randolph        905.6

Tim,

Have you ever thought of adding a list feature to the Career RNRS points sheet? where you could sort according to state, or category, see how you compare there, instead of overall? Also it would be neat to have a Region option also next to state to see how you rank overall in your region.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you did that for him...  ;)

I'm not sure what you mean by a list feature.  Could you try to explain more what you mean?  There's already a state column and a column for each category, so you can sort by any of those columns currently.  A region option would be interesting, I'm not sure where I would put it though.  It would be very easy to add.  The time consuming part of the spreadsheet is adding all the raw data.  Adding new analysis elements takes relatively little time (so if there is any specific analysis style column you'd like to see let me know and I can look into adding it).  Or as Justin said you can add stuff yourself.

Huh,

I guess my computer doesn't show the sort option... All I know is that If I select all the data and then right-click and select 'create list' I get drop down choices for all the available data. I guess thats what I was talking about. IDK, maybe I'm just a computer noob.

I'm using open office rather than word, but after I select all the row I go to the data menu and select sort.

Huh, Open Office, that makes sense. I would simply create a Region Column right next to the State column on the Analysis Page.

Thanks for keeping this up to date Tim.  I really enjoy checking this file out.

It would be nice to add in Online now that it is an official category with RNRS points.  It would also be nice to add in TEAMS if it becomes an official category after Christmas.

Not including Online was an oversight on my part, I'm working on adding it now.  But I have a few questions about the online results.

The 2009 Online season went from March-July right?  Are the results from March listed somewhere?  What is used as a tiebreaker?

You should update your first post with Gabe as the leader in Career Online points, also I believe that he may be very close to breaking into the 1000 point club with his points from Online.

Unfortunately, no they aren't currently listed anywhere.  However, the top 3 in March were:
Gabe = 1st
Jon Greeson = 2nd
Caleb Priest = 3rd

Also the Cactus website is slightly off on my points.  It says that I had 8 points (2nd and 3rd), when I really only have 6 points (3rd and 3rd).

There was no need for tiebreakers this past year since there was a clear 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finisher in RNRS points.

There was no need for tiebreakers this past year since there was a clear 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finisher in RNRS points.

The July Results:
1.  Gabe                             33 pts
2.  RedDragonThorn              30 pts
3.  Cameron                        30 pts
4.  Redemptioncousin            30 pts

Why are 2-4 ordered as ordered?

The reason Gabe gave me when I asked was relative strength of schedule, coupled with the fact that I had beaten at least one, if not both players below me.

Ah, I misunderstood your question to be about overall RNRS points for the year as opposed to rankings in a given month.

In July, RDT was with Cam, Gabe, and 1 other player in the top round robin at the end of the Month.  RDT beat Cam, and therefore was ranked higher than him.  RCuz was in the 2nd round robin and scored enough points to end up with the same as RDT and Cam, however he was playing lower ranked opponents, and therefore didn't get higher than 4th.

In general I think it is safe to say that you can only pass someone if you have more points than them, or beat them.  And if you were below someone before that week, and don't do one of those things, then you'll still be below them.

Hey Tim, thanks for taking the time to keep this up to date.  I know that there's a lot of us who appreciate it.

Why aren't the Online RNRS points counted with all the other categories (listed in columns D-J) totalled in column K?
