Truthfully, any type who's main selling point is less doms that will allow SOG NJ will not draw e in.

Some thoughts on revision:
NJ counts as two doms, rather than ban it outright.  You can still burn through your deck for SoG/NJ, but there won't be any Aotl or Grapes to help you.
DoN is changed to say: Discard one active Artifact, card treated as an Artifact, or fortress in play. Artifact's or fortress ability is negated.
This'll help against TGT/Z-temple.

there areplenty of ways to get rid of a fortress. the last thing we need is another dom that takes up another slot in everyones decks

Thus why I changed DoN to get rid of either or.  As to "another slot in everyones decks" this whole discussion is about preventing just that.

The thing is if this type gets official it won't work that way.

This is much more oriented toward experienced players.  I'm not using it in my playgroup currently, as everyone only has SoG/AotL/CM/Burial, and some NJ.

I would agree with RR that you should exclude SoG/NJ to give props to deckbuilding ingenious. Otherwise, it's T1 minus 2 doms.

I don't want to start banning cards, so here's the modification I made
NJ counts as two doms, so if you're using it, SoG/NJ are your ONLY Good Doms.  No AotL to take out the pesky EC, no Grapes for fun, no Harvest time to upset a timely Burial.
DoN can now also take out fortresses (TGT, I'm looking at you)

The first change is contrived and ridiculous and makes absolutely zero sense. The second is a full on errata to solve a problem, which in most players' opinions, isn't a problem.

Contrived and ridiculous, until you realize that we're trying to make an entirely new gametype, with new strategy.  Of course it doesn't make sense in T1, because I'm not designing something for T1.

As far as the errata on DoN, what's wrong with some fortress killing?  Again, this is supposed to be a different playstyle, so that people can compete with more than TGT/speed

But you are not trying to make a new gametype. You are trying to make the gameplay of T1 better.

Ok, so it's not an entirely new gametype, and it won't be "better" by everyone's definition.  This is something new for those who think that Redemption hovers on the edge of brokenness.

I think that that in the past it has been made pretty clear Redemption is nowhere near broken.

That's your opinion.  Others have different opinions, and there's no reason we can't facilitate them.

The problem is you are actually attempting to break the game more by making a card that is already about as good as a card can be arguably the best card in the game.

I vote Type NW be officially sanctioned as a new Redemption category.

Type NW is another thing.  I still want to keep this balanced, without banning cards.
