ok as of today, the new Need for Speed The Run is now in stores and to celebrate this occasion i have to ask: of all the need for speed games in the franchise, which is your favorite?

mine has to be need for speed underground 2 for the ps2 cause of the graphics, gameplay and the ability to customize your ride, i favor the Hyundai Tiburon simply because of it's magificent handling and acceleration and once the extreme packages are installed it becomes a beast! though this is my opinion on one of the best cars in the game.

The only NFS that I've played was Hot Pursuit 2.  I had a lot of fun with that, but my mother took it as evidence that I'd be a terrible driver.

I am an ooooooold school NFS player.  I remember playing the original one on a friends computer, and playing the first 3 versions on the original Playstation.  I actually STILL play NFS 3 on my PS2, and enjoy it.  I do think Hot Pursuit 2 was even more fun (again I played it at a friend's) as it allowed you to be the police.  I thought that the whole idea of allowing players to compete not only as 2 competitors racing, but as opposing forces of police and speedsters was really creative for a racing game, and much more fun than simply changing the paint job or suspension statistics of the car that you're driving.

I've played 3 Need for Speed games, Most Wanted, Carbon and the newer Hot Pursuit, all on the 360.  I have to say I actually liked Most Wanted more than either of the newer ones I played, but maybe because I found the pursuits way more fun than on Carbon, and the game actually had a story rather than a bunch of races and pursuits like Hot Pursuit.
