Looking for an AOE type game

I'm looking for a game, it can be old, so I can play multiplayer with my brothers on pc.  I'd like to stay away from magic, world religions, and weird "wonders"(for example, false gods).  Is there any type of game out there like that?  Thanks for your help.

I haven't played the campaign so I don't really know the storyline, but Starcraft II has free online, 1v1 all the way to 4v4, plus a ton of amazing mini games that are more fun that the real game. I recommend that to anyone.

Does Star Wars fall under any of the taboo categories? Galactic Battlegrounds was designed with the same engine as AoE, so the gameplay is almost identical.

That's exactly the type of game i'm looking for.  I'll have to look it over better, but it looks right on. Thanks.

Homeworld.  Old, so you might be able to find it cheap.  If not, shoot me a pm and we'll work something out.

Homeworld is awesome.  I think they released the code, so you should able to get it free.  When I get home I'll dig up a link.

Awesome.  So it's free to download because of being so old?  Sounds great, please post the link.  I tried the demo of the Star Wars game and it seemed pretty good.  So i'll like to compare the two games.

Galactic Battlegrounds is nice.  Only thing is, adding air units to a game that previously was ground-only kinda defeats the purpose of walls.

It takes a little while before you can build air units, and by then, every good wall comes with Anti-Air Turrets.  ;)

Yeah, but the point is, the walls aren't nearly as effective as they were in AoE2, when you did not have the option to just sail over them unhindered.  It changed the balance of the game units/structures.

There are air units in Galactic Battlegrounds, which is the Star Wars version of AoEII.
