Best of Football?

Which football game is, in your opinion, superior to all the others?

Very simple question.  Keep your answers short as well.  Maybe include a tiny review?  But don't spam.  Thankies!

Although I am old enough to remember Doug Flutie's hail mary pass, I am going to have to vote for the 2007 Fiesta Bowl between Boise State and Oklahoma. Jared Zabransky may not be NFL caliber, but he was amazing that whole year and I will never forget the Statue of Liberty play to win the game in overtime. That, of course, came after a furious Oklahoma comeback to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. But, not to be denied, Boise State pulled off a perfect Hook & Latter to tie the game at the end of regulation.

Having the running back propose to his cheerleader girlfriend during the post-game interview just added the extra icing.  ;)

The game where everyone thought it was over, so the band marched on the field. But then the kicking team returned it for a touchdown, with tons of laderals as well as running over the band members. Epic! And as he crossed the end zone line, he knocked one of the band members to the ground.

That was pretty sweet. More of a play, actually, but that made the game so freaking awesome! ;)

What was also interesting, but less well known, was the fact that John Elway was the Stanford quarterback.

That's hilarious. Cause I was thinking the same thing, but I saw what YMT had posted, and assumed it was real football. haha, that's pretty funny.

So for that... Why not for everyone post both? My real football example is already posted, and for game... Madden 07. I don't own any other newer Maddens, but I think this one is the best. Go Shaun Alexander forever! :)

Play Action Football for original Nintendo...woohoo!!!

My favorite football game would have to be the Vikings come from behind win over the Giants in the play-offs several years ago (1997 I think). Down by 9 with 2 minutes left, we scored a touchdown, recovered an onside kick (which almost never happens) and then kicked a field goal to win. One of my best Christmas presents that year. Most people watching it at my Grandma's house had stopped watching and gone upstairs but I stayed to watch and it was amazing.  :D

2007 Fiesta Bowl was pretty cool but I only saw the very end, not the entire game.

The 1978 Atari Trak-ball (tm) controlled arcade game--FTW.

The faster you spun the trak-ball, the faster your X's and O's moved.  Until you got the side of your hand pinched between the ball and the deck. Yeeee-owch.

Good times; good times.

NCAA 2006 simply because I love running the option.

As for games I've seen: Giants vs Patriots superbowl was a great game, Texas Tech vs Texas this year was Epic but my all time favorite is and always will be Boise St. vs Oklahoma.  The hook and latteral plus the statue of liberty play took an already great game to the top of the chart for me.
I never want to grow up, hmmm maybe thats why I'm a youth pastor.

Madden 1996 (I think it was that year) for the Sega Genesis.

1. The ability to block the extra point attempt almost every time, forcing people to go for the 2-pt conversion all the time.
2. The ability to complete a Hail Mary pass unless your opponent defended completely to stop the pass, leading to huge scoring on both teams.
3. The ability to devastate someone going all out to stop the pass with a triple action running play complete with lateral.
4. The fact that everything was so new.  Even including the commentary!
Best of all:
5. The fun of playing with all the other college guys on the hall.

Nice, Stamp. When I get the chance I'll play a 15 minute quarter game against the computer with Shaun Alexander. I'll see if I can top that many yards. I am the running master. :)
