Last Minute Deck Advice for a Returning Player

Hello my Redemption Brothers and Sisters. I haven't been active on the forums so much, but I just got back into the metagame digging my old decks out after reigniting my passion for this game through playing with my brother-in-law. I used to attend Redemption tournaments at the Alive Festival back when they had them. I wish to participate in the PA state tournament and could use some advice as to cards I should put in/leave out.

So far, I feel like this deck could use some more speed in general, since speed seems to be the metagame right now. That, and any other advice you may have that I'm not seeing would be helpful. (Also might be willing to buy some of the cards I need if they are sold there)

Good to see you again friend. I too used to attend Alive tournaments in the "glory years" with Doug and the gang. My wife and I will be there tomorrow with plenty of supplies to help spruce up your deck. Sadly, your deck is very outdated and most these days use one or two cultural themes on offense and defense. If you could expand on what card strategies you like, we could give you some advice on deck types to consider. Once you get a decklist, I can make you a deal that will be at least 25% off Three Lions Gaming (now owned by Ken since 2009?). In case I don't recognize you, just ask to see Brad in the morning. I'll be the one with boxes and binders of stock  ;D

I'm glad you getting back into the game after being out for so long.  Unfortunately Brad is right about your deck being quite outdated these days.  The good news is that your LSs and dominants are still pretty good.  But your offense and defense probably needs a complete replacement.  I suppose if you went straight Angels and Crimson you could keep the stuff I listed below.  I think your best bet is to just show up early to the tournament and plan on some time to do some deck-building there in person.  It'll be faster, and people can catch you up to speed on how the newer cards have affected the game.

So it looks like when you last played G/H was the latest and greatest right? What cards to you have access to? It might cost you a arm and a leg to make a fighting meta deck but its fairly easy and cheap make a very good budget deck.

Try E/F. Yea, third edition was the hip thing back in my meta, and I loved the Angel Wars boosters. I just bought Happy Josiah's Lot A mostly to catch up on some of the cool lost souls I didn't have and actually OWN 7 different dominants (even though I know theres probably way more--perhaps around 15-20??) And I literally just bought the G/H 15th anniversary deck maybe a few weeks ago. I plan on buying I/J at the next booster draft. I'll probably stink at that, too, just because most of what I'm getting into will be a surprise.

I had a feeling I might hear something like this--and I needed to hear it. I suppose it's easy to feel confident when all you have available to play is a brother-in-law who plays a 150-CARD-SUPER-NOOB-RAINBOW-RANDOM-BRIGADE SPECIAL deck that's probably better off playing against something that's type two (which I'm sure probably wouldn't do well because he has some more outdated cards than I do).

As far as access to cards, I've got a Red Warriors (Samuel?) offense going in my other deck that might be cool (Abishai, Adino, Joel, Recruiting Officer). It might be best at this point to build when I get there. I'll try to arrive by 7or 7:30 (which means I must leave by 3AM--oh well lol). I'll have a black-and-white trucker hat with my name on it (It will actually say "My Name is Pat Ball")

I appreciate the feedback and help and wish you all blessings tomorrow!
