One I'm Not Sure What It Counts As
Philosophy

So there it is. It does have a small captain banding chain, but the main goal is to set aside the heroes as long as I dare to grow them to obscene heights, heal them if they die, and protect the ones I'm not using. DoN is always saved for HoH and Asa exists solely to get rid of Asherah Pole. The defense is just a bunch of artifacts and splash characters to hold off the onslaught while I build up my attacking force.

Problems:
-It's supposed to be fast, and it isn't. 70 cards for this type of deck is just wrong, and I kind of feel like even 63 might be too many.
-It seems unfocused. Are the set asides a lost cause? Is the captain banding chain unecessary?
-There may be room for a better defense in here. Pale green may be a natural fit. Is this worth pursuing?
-Are FBN decks a thing of the past?

Thanks for your help!

You might want to put in Torment, Trembling Demon and seven sons of sceva.  Plus you need a captured ark.  IF they have Holy of Holies behing a lampstand, you need to get them to shuffle the lampstand in order to nuke their Holy of Holies. (if they shuffle the holy of holies, then you are good as gold regardless)

you might want to put a Lying unto God in there anyway.

hormah's are  always good for stalling too and work even better with a 2or 3 liner  ;)

The main problem is that your defense is too small to stall for long.  I think I may bail on the set asides and use those slots to beef up my defense.

I don't see how Trembling demon would work in here. They would just discard an enhancement, and I would die. Am I playing it wrong?

No, I believe you're correct. I don't see what good it would do in there either. Unless you had Holy of Holies. But I do agree with crustpope on the set-asides. I think they could go, you should be able to get bigger then you need to with just the enhancements. It would also be nice if you could get an eithiopian treasurer, widow, and AoCP in there or something like that.

Trembling demon is not what you think it is, yes. But at the same time it FAILS in this deck.

Why it's good: activate holy of holies. Now the ability that your opponent can negate it is negated, and therefore it's a cbn way to stop them.

Why it's bad advice: holy of holies kills your offense.  ;D

That looks pretty good.
Speaking of dealing with artifacts, is cutting Asa really such a good idea?

Oh, also it's not difficult to win with them. I made a very simple nothing but fbtn deck with gray defense for my bro, who hasn't played in 3 years, he went to a regional and went 4-1, his only loss because he forgot he had captured ark. I was watching the game and caught 4 turns in which he could have won.  ;D

No, he was going for the fourth and the person only had emperor nero. Why not shuffle in their unknown nation? Nope, let's attack and let them get naaman.  ;)

Huh. Well get off my lawn, ya darn kids.
I was just playing Eric's orange defense deck tonight and he was all surprised both my decks ran three nails. Apparently no one does that anymore either. :)

Yeah, not really. I only use it in my combo decks. There's alot of ways around it though, he should mess with his defense a little.

Good to see you back, Josiah. I heard you won something at PA States.

I almost went do to no NJ States this year, but then found out the Maryland State tournament was closer.
