Doubt (Pi)

I am currently messing around with the sets up to RoA. I'm not ready for the changes to the game after that and I know nearly all cards pre-RoA are essentially obsolete now. Doubt from Priests definitely is. But I had a question about it - what is the benefit of Doubt? I've been trying to figure out where it would be more beneficial to have the dominant in your deck than just an orange character, since Doubt only lasts one round. It cannot be added straight to a battle, correct? When Doubt was used, what was the best scenario for it be played in?

Thank you!

You’d have to play it just before your opponent enters battle so you have a blocker ready. But the LoC Doubt is what the old Doubt should have been as it has an add to battle element and does much more, and is still a 0/12 EC.

You could play it and use it to block after your opponent entered battle but before you present a different blocker. It was decent against FBtN Heroes like The Strong Angel since it just had large toughness and could stalemate it. Being a symbolic genderless character, it would also be harder to target with something like A New Creation or Striking Herod, which require humans or males, respectively. It would also be used sometimes in multiplayer since you could place it in an opponent's territory if they didn't have another blocker against another opponent (sort of like The Darkness). But yeah, like Watchman said, the new Doubt does all that and more aside from possibly helping an opponent block another opponent.
