This is my first attempt to make a semi-serious turtle deck, and the only game I played with it didn't work as I'd hoped (Paul got captured by Magic Charms as soon as I converted him). Looking for general advice on how to prevent things like that from happening. I think there's a lot of potential for this, since there's no way to stop an AoCp with protection if Iron Pan is out, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a solid formula, since I can't very well have 6 different artifacts out.

Cards in deck: 53
Lost Souls: 7
   Lost Soul (anti-burial)
   Lost Soul (Female Only)
   Lost Soul (first round)
   Lost Soul (N.T. only)
   Lost Soul (revealer)
   Lost Soul (shuffler)
   Lost Soul (Shut Door)

Lamb Dominants: 5
   Angel of the Lord
   Grapes of Wrath
   Guardian Of Your Souls
   New Jerusalem
   Son of God

Grim Reaper Dominants: 5
   Burial
   Christian Martyr
   Destruction of Nehushtan
   Falling Away
   Mayhem

Fortresses: 2
   Goshen
   Headquarters at Riblah

Artifacts: 5
   Ark of the Covenant
   Hidden Treasures
   Holy Grail
   Iron Pan
   Unholy Writ

Multi-Color Heroes: 1
   Ezekiel (Green/Teal)

Purple Heroes: 1
   Ananias of Damascus

Multi-Color Hero Enhancements: 1
   Brass Serpent

Purple Hero Enhancements: 1
   Authority of Christ

Crimson Evil Characters: 12
   Archers of Kedar
   Arioch
   Ashpenaz
   Babylonian Forces
   Babylonian Soldiers
   King Belshazzar
   King Merodach-baladan
   King Zimri
   Nebuchadnezzar
   Nebushasban
   Nergalsharezer
   The Imperial Guard

Gray Evil Characters: 1
   Saul/Paul

Crimson Evil Enhancements: 12
   Belshazzar's Banquet
   Carried into Exile
   Christian Suing Another
   Desecrate the Temple
   Great Image
   Head of Gold
   Imitating Evil
   Midianite Attack
   Nebuchadnezzar's Dream
   Nebuchadnezzar's Pride
   Swift Horses
   Treachery of Jezebel

I don't know how you expect to rescue any souls with this offense.

I could see AOCP as 1, Angel as another, and Sog+NJ third and fourth, but if they have any discard protection this deck is toast.

Yeah you need some kind of offense in this deck. I would take out Ezekiel and Aocp and add 3 pre block cards you can play on Paul and add I am Healing and Covenant of Palestine.

If you have Ezekiel in a herolite offense with Babs for defense and you don't use Forest Fire or Drawn Sword, you're doing it wrong.  Zeke + Forest Fire is just like Thomas + MLaMG, except Zeke gets better inish and can recur FF.  Plus both of these can be used on either offense or defense, depending on your need.

That's the point of using Iron Pan. Wait until they deck out, presumably with the vast majority of their defense on the table, and put up Iron Pan to negate protection. The caveat that I just realized is Iron Pan negates play abilities which ruins the entire concept of the deck. Crap.

Yeah, pretty much any deck that could work as a Herolite has a serious drawback with Iron Pan. There's really no two ways about it. You'd pretty much have to make sure that you can use something on defense to get rid of a protect fort (I always used to use Besieged in my Heroless) and there are plenty of options for the deck (Forest Fire is one). As for protecting Paul from Charms, the best way is Obadiah's Caves, since it doesn't require an artifact slot. But again, remember that IP negates it, so if you see a Charms coming, don't have a converted Paul and IP up at the same time until you're rid of it.

This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!
