Hey,
I guess I'll make one of these just a little thing first; If your a really experienced trade (i.e. Briangabe  ::) ) make sure to keep your trade lists up to date (maybe I'm just being a little nitpicky because hes the only one to say I'm a horrid trader...I was......when I was 11 and first starting.) just saying some info should be updated:

ReyZen: Excellent, great trader, very forgiving of indecision to  ;)
YMT: excellent trader
Ken4Christ: a tad slow but always lists the cards in the right condition
SoulSaver: hes a great trader (if he isn't I'll be sure to beat kick his butt...  ;D puppy dog in da house!
crustpope: very prompt good trader
ProfUnderwood: great trader
RTSManiac: good trader
Vasbear: slow but good condition cards
STAMP: great trader

Did some trading with BubbleBoy and SJSharks. I was a little slow in getting mine out (I realized after agreeing to the trades that I had no stamps), but they both got their parts out swiftly and they arrived in great condition ^_^

I don't recall saying or thinking that anyone on these boards is a horrid trader.  I've never had a terrible experience trading on these boards.  Every problem I've encountered has been worked out and can be explained by youth or inexperience. :)

In your case, Caleb, we've only traded twice.  There were problems both times.  I'm sure you've learned from experience and improved but I have to make my recommendation based on those trades.  When/if we trade again I'll be sure to update my refs accordingly. ;)

NeverSmDkTwice took my money through PayPal and ran. He won't respond to my emails and never sent the cards. He does not seem to have been on recently, but if he does come back, don't send him money because he may steal yours too.

For those in the PayPal know, I issued a Buyer Complaint and PayPal ruled in my favor since he never responded to them either. However, since he has no money in his account, I got nothing. So FYI, even using PayPal will not protect you.

Don't be fooled by the fact that this is a Christian message board. People will cheat you here just like anywhere else.

Those are the ones I remember trading with and had no problems with ever. I have never traded with someone who ripped me off or had poor delivery, so far everyone I've traded with has been fine. I'll update as I think of more people I have traded with in the past that I can vouch for.

Frankly, I am sick of all the deception people on these boards try to get away with. Why can't Christians just tell the truth to each other, especially when trading a Christian card game. Over and over again I get the same thing. "I sent them back on _____" when they really didn't. Don't you people realize that the USPS postmarks the envelope? I know exactly when you sent the cards. If you're waiting to receive the other person's cards first, or you forgot, or whatever, just tell them the truth. I think we can all handle the truth even if we disagree on who has to send first.

This deception is what makes it worse throughout the boards. We start expecting people to not send their cards, so we delay sending ours. I must admit that I have done that, too, with people who are new or have negative feedback. But for experienced traders who have positive feedback on this thread? Why? What's your excuse?

I've vented on various threads about the "lost in the mail" so "I'll send a new set" lie. Sure it happens that mail gets lost, but not as much as it does on these boards and always by the same people.

At some point it just needs to stop. Tell the truth.

I guess I'll post my thoughts on this. I agree there is lying and deception on the boards, and it just isn't right. That being said, does that mean everyone is lying, and deceiving each other? No. In some instances they are telling the truth and people just don't believe it beings others have lied using the same scenario.

Rawrlolsauce, why did you lie about when you sent the cards? Why not just tell the truth? You didn't send your cards until you received mine. Was that so hard? You were wrong to do that without telling me, but to lie about sending them on December 3rd goes beyond.
According to my dictionary, a lie is "Something meant to deceive or give a wrong impression." You may disagree, but I don't think that telling you something that I thought to be true should be considered a lie. I'd also like to point out that we had traded once in the past, where you didn't send your cards until I told you that yours were in the mail. If I trusted you then, what has changed now? What reason do I have to wait to receive your cards before sending mine?

In the future, I will not be trading with you. It isn't because you're a dishonest trader, but I don't want to associate myself with someone who falsely accuses me of lying.

Like I said earlier, I don't look at my messages word for word and make sure that everything is correct. I type what pops into my head that conveys the message, which will occasionally leads to some miscommunication. I almost always say "I sent your cards out" to other people I trade with, and half the time I do. The other half of the time there is something stopping me (time constraints, weather, lack of stamps, etc etc) from sending them out, so I ask someone else to if they will be headed by the post office a bit later. I understand your point and how you see that is lying, and in the future I'll be more accurate, but I still don't feel that is lying despite it not being true.

The difference, simply, is that I told you that I was not sending out my cards until you sent out yours, so that our cards went out at the same time. You had said that you could not send out your cards right away, remember? That's quite a difference from saying that you sent out the cards, when you did not.
I just looked back at my old messages and only found one of them that hinted we were sending at the same time before I sent them out, and it was as follows:
Let me know when you are ready to send the cards out.
Even then, that isn't clear. But this is all besides the point anyway. I'm just trying to figure out my motive for sending late. We traded once in the past, we both trusted each other and it went over fine. Why would I wait to get yours this time.

I'd offer to give you my mom's number, and you could call her and ask her, but I doubt she'd like me giving away her number on the internet

I'm not going to post on this subject anymore. I'll let future traders decide if they want to trust me or not.

I know on my last post I said I wasn't going to post on this subject anymore, but I guess that was a lie. I'm posting this to explain my reasoning for telling him "I can't send them right away". After this post, I'm done. No more posting on this subject, no more trading not in person, and no more posting except the occasional ruling question. I don't like being called a liar, and I don't like being harassed. Hopefully these measures will help eliminate those.

Flashback to our first trade, when he was not able to "send the cards out right away." Guess who's fault that was..... mom.

What I would like to know is whether his mom knows that he drags her into his lies.
Please look at the dates the messages were sent. We agreed upon the first trade on Friday, and this last one I agreed to late night Thursday: both the first week of the month. My parents are divorced and I am legally obligated to travel to my father's house (in Iowa) (if you don't want to believe me on that either, go ahead and ask Ring Wraith or one of the moderators. Ring Wraith's father started holding his tournaments on the second weekend of every month instead of the third weekend of every month so I can go to them without having to switch weekends, which always turns out to be a mess. The moderators should have IP logs of me on various weekends from a computer in Little Cedar, Iowa.) the first and third weekend per month, Friday to Sunday. We exchanged addresses over the weekend in the first trade. Beings I was in Iowa, I did not have my cards with me so I was unable to organize them and send them. When I got back home I assembled the cards we agreed upon and, beings we were out of stamps, they were mailed on Tuesday.

This time we agreed to the trade Thursday night. I didn't get a chance to assemble the cards, as I went to sleep. I did not have time to assemble your cards or label the envelope before going to school Friday morning, and I did not return home before going to my father's house. When I got home Sunday night, I assembled your cards and labeled the envelope. Due to reasons I described earlier (weather), I did not feel comfortable just throwing them in my mailbox so I gave them to my mother to put in a public mailbox.

EDIT: I'm not saying I'm in the right, because I'm not. I agree that some of my messages were unclear, and I apologize for that. I should not have confirmed the cards had been sent (assuming they were) when I had not did it myself or received conformation, and I apologize for that. But I, in no way, intended to provide YMT false information. I just told him what I thought to be true.

This is ultimately the only thing I am trying to get you to confront. You were not "unclear" and you did not present "what you thought to be true." This is what you said:

They were dropped off in one of those blue mail boxes at about 9pm on Monday.

This is not a vague generalization or unclear thought. "9PM on Monday in a blue mail box" is not unclear. That is about as precise of an answer as one can give. If what you are claiming about your mom were true, then you are now suggesting that your mother lied to you and told you that she had put the envelope in a blue mailbox at 9PM on Monday. However, you also claim that you gave it to your mom and then "she forgot it and didn't mail it until Friday without telling me." If she didn't tell you, then how did you come to the conclusion that it was put into a blue mailbox at 9PM on Monday?
She said she'd drop it in on her way home from work (she is a home health aid). She finishes that client she went to on that day at about 8:30, and then there is a bit of time in the drive home. I estimated, and assumed she got into town just before nine and dropped it off then. I just specified blue so you'd know what I was talking about, the public mail boxes around town.

I have no problem confessing to something wrong I did. However, under no circumstances will I admit to doing something wrong when I haven't.

I have to say I believe Sauce at the moment. Not only is his story believable, but YMT just wants to keep telling him that he is lying instead of listening to what he has to say. Then YMT accuses him of wasting his talents and not using them for God? That's just low and I don't think acceptable on these forums.

Frankly, I don't care who you believe.

To prevent confusion, I just recommend only saying the cards were sent when you know for sure they were.  I have done the same thing once or twice; I say the cards were sent, I forget, they sit on my desk for a day or two, then I'm late and the info I told the other person isn't true.  Lying might not be the right word per se, but it definitely is confusing.

I understand you weren't trying to "lie", but it definitely isn't the full truth when this happens.  Doing it "half the time" isn't right.

@LN, I don't want to irritate the situation more, but your response sounds like a debate judge, looking at the arguments and seeing who "wins".  When there is a disagreement, I don't think it is the 3rd person's place to take sides and "vote" for someone.  Just MHO though.

IMHO, I think it is time to end this discussion.  The fact is, we know something happened in the transaction.  Take from it what you will.

Fact is, we are ALL HUMAN and make mistakes.  Lets just move on.
