Trying to discard a deck

Here’s the scenario:

In your hand:  Battle Cry
In your territory:  Asahel (TexP), Elishama the Priest, King Jehoshaphat w/ Warrior’s Spear, Nathan, Simeon, Rebekah
In your discard pile:  Stillness

Attack with Asahel and choose a big evil character to block.  Play Battle Cry and bring in Elishama.  Place Stillness on Simeon.  Bring in Jehoshaphat, discard top card of opponent’s deck.  Bring in Nathan, make opponent shuffle an evil card from territory into deck.  Bring in Simeon, Battle Cry is done.  Force opponent to discard an evil card from hand or territory.  Stillness activates, return all cards to hand except Asahel (still in battle, protected from withdraw abilities) and Stillness (discarded).  Repeat until opponent has no evil cards in hand or territory and has no deck.

There's gotta be some reason that this won't work as I imagine it to...

There is. The same character cannot enter battle twice in the same turn.

What about this:  Set Asahel aside with Training in Righteousness and add Blue as one of the brigades.  Attack, choose an immune evil character, play Warrior's Spear, play Stillness, get Warrior's Spear back, discard Stillness, play Book of Gad the Seer and get back Stillness, play Warrior's Spear, play Stillness, etc.

Oh, how about this: Set Asahel aside with Training in Righteousness to give him gold and blue brigade, go out and choose the blocker, play Warrior's Spear, play Stillness to take it back, play it again, play Highway to take both enhancements back, play WS again, etc., and keep a Book of Gad the Seer in case you get a LS with WSpear.

I actually think this combo works...

Wouldn't need the Book of Gad, Warrior's spear doesn't discard until after battle.  I like it, but I would choose a different hero + Provisions so I could choose my Red Dragon.

But don't you need to use Asahel?  Because he is protected from withdraw abilities?

Actually, the withdraw the hero ability is a "may" ability, so no, you don't have to use Asahel.

Cam's right...we could even cut out TiR if we use Seeker of the Lost or Soldier of God.

There are so going to be some erratas soon. :P

So what is the final combo then?  Attack with a Provisioned Soldier of God/Seeker, choose your own immune EC, play Warrior's Spear, play Highway/Stillness, get back Warrior's Spear, discard Highway/Stillness, choose not to withdraw, play Warrior's Spear again, play a card to get back Highway/Stillness?

Not quite.

1. Attack with a Provisioned Soldier of God/Seeker,
2. choose your own immune EC,
3. play Warrior's Spear,
4. play a withdraw card (Highway or Stillness),
5. get back Warrior's Spear,
6. choose not to withdraw,
7. play Warrior's Spear again,
8. Repeat from step 4, this time retrieving the other withdraw card.

Here's how this will be solved:

A. New rule making withdraw enhancements be unable to return other withdraw enhancements.
B. Errata on all withdraw cards to say: "May withdraw hero to return enhancments played to hand."

Either way, this combo will meet a swift and unfortunate demise.
Press 1 for more options.

I saw a post by Bryon that said he WANTS a combo that discards an opponent's deck (when discussing the ANB errata).  He said he didn't want it to take 45 minutes for one turn though.  This combo would be much faster, right?  I wonder what the reasoning will be to errata this one.

Me and Ben Shadrick made this deck for last year's SE regionals. We did a speed offense though to get it all out and used Coat of Many COlors. But I see this offense working well in type 2 and you would have to center the offense around it though and only have those cards. I would pair it with an evil gold defense or Romans with Heavy Taxes and hurt their hand with gray, or deck with gold, but not go too heavy into it. Mainly I would want the defense to be strong and not focus on discard so much so I can block while my offense sets up.

B. Errata on all withdraw cards to say: "May withdraw hero to return enhancments played to hand."
Perfect!  Thanks for the save!

I said earlier that I actually WANT players to be able to discard an opponent's deck, and be able to win games by decking an opponent.  What I don't want to happen is for it all to happen in one turn.

There are going to be more deck discard abilities in the next set, but you will have to likely use a variety of abilities (character, weapon, artifact/curse, fortress, T-class enhancements, and regular enhancements).

What a shame. This would have been fantastic in T2 and ok in T1.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Each one says may, you don't have to withdraw.
(previous post...idk how to do that cool quote thing)

Actually, this can't work. check out this part of the ever-friendly REG:

• Many withdraw cards state: “… may withdraw from battle. All enhancements used may be returned to owner’s
hand, except this one.”, e.g., Stillness These two sentences are contingent. You may only keep the enhancements
if you withdraw from battle. (pg. 14)

so  u would have to use the Asahel combo because he's protected from the withdraw part of Stillness. if Seeker tried this he would have to withdraw from battle to get the enhancements back ,but then he couldn't re-enter battle unfortunately unless The Long Day was worked in there as this excerpt of the REG shows;

• If a character is forced to withdraw (e.g., Darkness (Warriors)) or withdraws from a battle voluntarily (e.g.,
Highway), it may not re-enter the current battle [p. 54]. Moreover, the character may enter on a new battle on the
same turn (e.g., The Long Day).
Can't think of something clever to say...sorry if you were expecting inspirational and/or witty...
