Fantasy Football team--BUMP...couple of start options this week

So here's my team:

Aaron Rodgers--QB
Ahmad Bradshaw--RB
Joseph Addai--RB
? ? ? ? ? ? ? --FLEX
Steve Smith--WR
Larry Fitzgerald--WR
Jason Whitten--TE
Jason Hanson--K
NY Jets--D/ST

Bench/FLEX options:
Jeremy Maclin--WR
Deion Branch--WR
Shonn Greene--RB
Dustin Keller--TE
Matt Hasselbeck--QB
Sebastian Janikowski--K
Dallas Cowboys--D/ST
Antonio Brown--WR
C.J. Spiller--RB
Javon Ringer--RB

FLEX spot is dependent on the match-ups...this past week I put in Deion Branch and he only had 1 catch but it was for a TD. So far my team has scored the most points in the league, but I'm 2-2 because the first two weeks the teams I played had unusually huge weeks and I started a couple of the wrong guys. (Steve Smith on bench Week 1, Jeremy Maclin on bench Week 2). Yesterday my team put up the most points of the year of any team (by 18) and we still have Addai going tonight. Clearly RB is my weakest position but I'm not sure how aggressively I should pursue trades with the bye weeks starting to hit. I feel like I have pretty good depth overall, so I'm not sure if I want to sacrifice that for a #1 RB. I've been fortunate to not have any major injuries but that could certainly change. I am planning to put waiver claims on Ryan Torain and Stevan Ridley with hopes of getting one of them. Also, after Dallas has their bye next week, Keller becomes a very attractive asset that I could include in a trade for a #1 RB so that's also a possibility. Any thoughts or insights are appreciated!

Your RBs are definitely your weak spot, none of those players would start on my team accept Shonne Green and he's inconsistent so I'd only start him when he's playing certain opponents. You definitely need to go out and get a solid back, maybe 2. Right now you'll have n problem getting by without one but as the weather gets colder (the same time the fantasy playoffs are going on) teams are gonna start to run more and that's when you're really going to hurt, especially since your only dome player is Jason Witten. You do have good depth but without a #1 RB it's not gonna matter. CJ Spiller probably shouldn't even be on your team, he's not the starter in Buffalo and barely sees the field. If you can post a list of your opponent's team and I can make some trade suggestions. With knowing their teams I can't say much since I don't know what trades they'd be likely to accept

That's interesting because both Bradshaw and Addai have had a better year than Greene thru the first 4 weeks...

Ideally I would like to have a #1 RB and Bradshaw as my #2 with Addai being an alternate/FLEX option.

I really don't see weather being a factor...cold weather alone doesn't make it hard to throw the ball, snow does.

It's a 12 team league...I'm not going to have 5 starting RBs on my team. Spiller was a late-round draft pick that I thought had some upside if Fred Jackson had started to fade a bit. Obviously Jackson is having a great year, but there's not much point in dropping Spiller to just pick up another back-up RB from another team. The exact same is true for Javon Ringer, though if I am able to acquire Torain or Ridley, Ringer will likely get cut.

I appreciate your thoughts, but I do disagree with a couple of your points. Like I stated, I've scored the most points in the league through 4 weeks so I'm definitely not going to blow up my team trying to get a #1 RB.

Right snow makes it harder to throw the ball and Rodgers, Branch, and Maclin play in snow, Smith sometimes gets hit with it in Carolina. Like I said Green would only start for me certain weeks, the Jacksonville game is the only game he would've started for me. It's not a coincidence that Running backs are always the first players taken in fantasy leagues even though quarterbacks consistently get more points, later in the season running backs are crucial. You've got some big play wide receivers but quarterbacks have a minimum of 3 people they can throw to on any one play, if it's a run it's a run. Bradshaw might be able to hold up as a number 2 but I really think you should get a number one back. f your 4 wide receivers you can trade either Branch or Maclin and still be okay, If you did that you'd still have your bye weeks covered as far as receivers go. Of the two of them I think Maclin would have the higher trade value, and with how much michael vick has been getting hurt lately he's the safer option to trade really. For this week leave everything as is, but next week I'd put Maclin and Keller on the trading block for a running back and see what kind of offers you can get.

I almost pulled off a Greene/Keller trade for Maurice Jones Drew last week (the other guy was in desperate need of a TE) so I'm hoping both (or at least one) of those guys rebound from a tough outing against Baltimore this week and I can sell high on them next week.

I'm really hoping I can hold onto Maclin because even tho he's the #2 to Desean Jackson, he's getting the most targets most weeks.

Instead of me posting the roster's of all the other teams, what if you list the RBs you think I might be able to acquire with the players I have and then I'll let you know what the owners of those RBs would be in need of. (Kind of what I did above mentioning that the owner of MJD really needs a TE).

One other thing--the league I'm in is very competitive right now. No team is undefeated and no team is winless through 4 weeks. The only team to start 0-3 was the guy who had Arian Foster and he posted a big win this week with Foster being back in his line-up.

Alright that sounds fair,

Jones-Drew is definitely an option
Arian Foster if you trust him to stay healthy, he had a really nice week this past week but he's been hurt so often...
Jahvid Best
Willis McGahee now that he's the starting in Denver he's been doing well

hopefully one of those will work out

Also, check your free agency for Dexter McCluster before continuing with anything, with Charles out he's gonna move in to the primary role

I might take another shot at Jones-Drew...like I said the owner came this close to pulling the trigger, but he decided he wanted to keep MJD.

I'll have to see if the guy with Foster wants to deal...he is sitting at 1-3 but he won this past week with Foster's big game. (He also has Ben Tate as insurance).

The team with Best is pretty stacked so I doubt they will be looking to deal, but they have lost their past two games after starting 2-0.

I'm not even sure who has McGahee so I'll have to look into that.

Another option I'm looking at is Stephen Jackson. His owner is in dire need of a QB (he currently has Cutler, Henne and Grossman who had a combined 8 points yesterday) and Hasselbeck has been pretty consistent this year (22, 16, 22 and 28 points thru the first 4 weeks).

I would look at Darren Sproles as a buy cheap option. He gets touches and always has big play potential. He's averaging around 10 points a game largely on yards.

That's definitely a guy I have my eye on. With our league scoring, he's getting about 12 points a game, which is more than both Addai and Greene have been getting.

Hey all you fantasy gurus...

Cowboys or Jets D/ST I could start this week. Cowboys have a much more favorable match-up, but Jets always seem to score huge.

Jason Hanson or Janikowski at K? Right now I'm going with Janikowski as I think Oakland will put up a bunch of points against KC, but Detroit could do the same to Atlanta.

Hanson > Sea Bass.

Oakland is running with a new QB, and I think they'll have issues getting into range, whereas Atlanta's Red Zone D has been pretty good this year, and so Hanson will probably be kicking more FG's than PATs.

That's been the consensus of everyone I have asked. "Sea Bass" also has an iffy hamstring apparently so even if he does play, his range might be shortened.

Any thoughts on Jets/Cowboys? Cowboys play St. Louis and Jets play Chargers.

I like Cowboys. Sam's playing behind a shaky line, and Demarcus Ware is 4th in the league for sacks. I don't know how many points sacks are worth in your league, but I find they tend to add up quick.

Even with the Oakland QB change, their running game still exists. I still think Sea Bass gets 3+ field goals this coming weekend. Such a great kicker. I would go with the Cowboys defense as the Rams have struggled on offense this year.

KC shut down Adrian Peterson against MN, so I wouldn't be so sure Darren MacFadden will do very well.

Came within 2 points of beating the number one guy in my league in the first round of the playoffs but alas it was not too be. It never fails too whenever I bench deangelo williams he gets like a 70 yard touchdown. anyway these are for my other two leagues....

Fox League
My starting Qb is a lock. Tom Brady against Denver > Big Ben against San Fran.
Lesean McCoy is definitely starting
my second running back slot I have some decisions to make. I have Maurice Jones Drew in their right now who has been a beast all season, but he's playing atlanta who has given up almost no points to running back except for the afformentiond 74 yard TD by Deangelo Williams last week just to spite me (kidding.) My other options are Willis Mcgahee against the pourous New England defense, and as we all know Denver runs the ball like a hundred times a game or Mike Tolbert againt baltimore. Tolbert is out in my opinion despite being a TD vulture.

So it's MJDII against a great Atlanta run D or McGahee against a terrible New England Defense. MJD did just have a 37 point game and McGahee only had 3 last week, though he was playing the bears.

Now Wide Receiver is my most wide open position. Pick 2. Steve Smith against Houston, Vincent Jackson against Baltimore, Julio Jones against Jacksonville Dwayne Bowe against Green Bay or Denarious Moore against Detriot, assuming he players. A quick run through of numbers on these guys, Smith has the most points on the season as he has had a huge year with Cam Newton, but obviously Houston doesn't give up alot of point to anyone. Vincent Jackson has the second most but has been the epitome of up and down. He's had a couple weeks of 20+ points and then the rest of the time it's been less than 5. He's also going up against an awesome baltimore Defense. Julio Jones is also the epitome of up and down, he's got 600 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season, 231 and all 4 of the TDs coming in 2 games. He's had two games of 20+ points, 2 games of 10+ and 5 of less than ten averaging less than 5 points in those games. if you're wondering why the numbers don't add up he missed 5 games over two seperate injuries. Bowe is playing the worst passing defense of the lot, with the packers giving up the 2nd most points to wide receivers, but tyler palko is his QB.... lastly Moore against the lineup is pretty interesting. Moore hasn't played in 4 or 5 weeks and no telling if he can even go this week, but if he does he was Palmer's favorite target before he got hurt and I believe had two straight games of 100+ yards and at least 1 TD. The lions pass defense is mediocre and with suh out their pass rush is weak, plus palmer has been shredding defenses when he's had people to throw too.

Lastly is tight end. I currently have Jason Witten. You'd think awesome right? Well not the last 3 weeks where he hasn't broken 5 points in any of them. It's only a 7 team league so I could easily pick up a decent starter and play matchups Witten is playing Tampa Bay and the best available TE is Jake ballard who is playing Washington.

if you're wondering my Defense is Chicago and my kicker is Dan Bailey, those guys are staying in obviously. this league only has 1 qb 2 rbs 2 wrs 1 te  1k and 1 def so there are no flex options, what's listed are the positions I have to choose from.

I have an NFL.com league to post too but i'll wait to find out who I'm playing for that one, the playoffs are starting this week and the bracket hasn't been set yet.
