I have I am Mercy active. I play Dove. My opponent plays Denying Blame. Is my hand protected?

(I suppose theoretically I could just discard his evil character that way, but whatever, you get the point)

What if it was Simon the Zealot instead of I am Mercy?

Dove (E)

Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Blue • Ability: 3 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: Opponent must discard an evil card from hand or battle. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Genesis 8:11

Denying Blame

Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Black • Ability: None • Class: none • Special Ability: Interrupt and redirect the last good enhancement played in battle (play the redirected enhancement as if it were yours, regardless of its brigade color).

I Am Mercy (AW)

Type: Covenant • Brigade: Purple • Ability: 2 / 5 • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect holder's hand and draw pile from discard abilities on evil cards.

Simon the Zealot (Di)

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Red/Purple • Ability: 7 / 4 • Class: None • Special Ability: Negate and discard Rome and a N.T. Idol. First Strike. Protect your hand and deck from opponents' cards while this Hero remains in play.

Mercy) No.  If Denying Blame said to convert the enhancement to the EC's brigade color, I'd say yes.
StZ) No.  Your opponent only controls, but does not own it (I'm not entirely sure on this one).

I've always assumed that "opponent's" was the same as "your", that it included ownership and control, so I would agree with this but I'm also not entirely sure.

I occasionally use Dove in a Genesis/Romans deck.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
