hero enters battle, EC proceeds to ignore hero, hero plays protection of angels.  is the hero protected from the ignore?  also if you are ignored in battle, do you have special initiative or just infinite regular initiative?  Thanks

Assuming that the evil character isn't CBN or CBI, then Protection of Angels would interrupt the ignore, then make you immune.  So then you proceed as immune and the ignore is no longer in play (unless PoA is negated later).  So then your hero would be their numbers plus PoA's numbers, and evil character would be 0/* (* being current defense).  Then initiative follows normal rules of battle & numbers of characters.

Jazz, to answer the second part of your question, if your character is being ignored then you would have regular, "infinite" initiative. It wouldn't be special initiative because you could play whatever cards you'd like when being ignored. However, in a special initiative situation you could only play cards that would interrupt the battle and/or negate the removal of your last character from battle.
