Herod’s Treachery
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Place on a Herod. That Herod may use evil Enhancements regardless of brigade. You may discard this card to force X Heroes to withdraw from battle.

If the Herod who's holding Herod's Treachery is converted to a Hero does the portion of HT that says "You may discard this card to force X Heroes to withdraw from battle." still work?

Thats a good question, and I have another one to add that may have already been answered...

Since TClass enhs can work outside of battle, can you activate the discard portion of the card when the EC isnt even in battle?

You can only use territory class ehns (disregarding playing them in battle like normal) in the prep and discard phases. I guess you could still use the ability, but it would never have an effect. I guess you could discard it in the prep phase without transferring to the d/c phase.

I think it would work converted; I don't see why not.

"Place" cards are not affected by the conversion of the underlying card. Since you are allowed to place evil enhancements on heroes (see most of the Angel Wars set) and their abilities still work, I see no reason why that would not be the case here.

Well Roy Cruz ruled that if an evil character holding a weapon gets converted, the weapon gets converted too. So if that is the case then I don't see why the treachery wouldn't be converted if it is placed on it too.

Cards placed on characters are different in several ways from weapons. This is one of those ways.

And Roy ruled correctly since that is exactly what the rulebook says. However, as Sir Nobody stated, the rules for "Place" are different than the rules for "Weapon-Class."

I should clarify my question.

Can I discard Herod's Treachery from a Herod in my territory during the battle phase? Meaning, does HT need to be in the field of battle in order to activate? Or could I use it to get Jake + RTC out of my face without even blocking?

I don't know how well the "may use evil enhancements..." part would work when he is converted though.

I don't see anything in the special ability that looks convertable.... I do think it would stay on that Herod though, but have no effect.

Since the ability doesn't actually harm any heroes, I think it would still work (assuming the answer to Lambo's question is yes, which I believe it is). The use evil enhancements obviously wouldn't work though.

i think this ability would work

i think the activation of abilities on converted characters needs a complete overhaul.
i know abilities activating on converted characters is a headache and i wish there was a better method- it seems that it is becoming more and more restrictive which is understandable and i wouldnt be surprised if evil characters lose thier abilities after conversion in the future as the fate of our heros have become.

Imho, they should just add another clause to the long string of clauses that make up a card effect in the REG. It could be as simple as "Converted: no effect" or "Converted: keeps effect" and would answer the problem of what happens when so and so character or such and such weapon is converted.

The enhancement doesn't convert. Why do people keep talking about a converted "Place" card? There is no such thing. The only enhancements that I am aware of that can convert are weapon-class.
