Melchizedek -4/4 - Teal/Purple Hero - Protect all heroes in play from capture, conversion and poisons.

Just to clarify, this ability takes place when he enteres play, or only when he is in battle?

The ability only remains in effect while he is in battle. The SA would have to say "while character remains in play" (or something to that effect) for it to last after battle.
