Either way, Jacob + Obedience of Noah + Reuben's Torn Clothes (one place and one played by his ability so Obedience activates first) is crazy.

Hm... I think it depends on the hero. For example, gathering on Ehud takes place before Ehud's ability, because banding is before ctb. But provisions would activate after jacob, for the same reason mentioned. Yes, that's crazy.  :)

Placed enhancements activate at the same time as a weapon-class enhancement would activate.

Hey,

I believe placed enhancements activate as a response to the hero entering battle, which means they would activate similar to when Hidden Treasures triggers which would be after abilities on characters and their weapons (including choose the blocker abilities).

Wow, Hidden Treasures activates after Choose the Blocker abilities?  Does that include Provisions?

I started a whole thread about when placed enhancements activate... I don't think it truely came to a solid conclusion.

The key difference here is triggered abilities vs. activated abilities.  The ability gained by provisions is gained by the hero and it activates when the character enters battle.  The ability on a weapon class enhancement activates when the hero enters battle.  Hidden Treasures on the other hand activates during the preparation phase and then is triggered when the hero enters battle.  When a hero enters battle all abilities that activate (including banding and choose the blocker) are carried out before any abilities that are triggered.

A placed enhancement (placed by an ability like Agur) activates not because it enters battle but because a trigger in the ability that placed the card there causes it to activate.   So it follows the timing of a triggered ability.

A gathered Ehud would have three abilites: (1) choose the blocker, (2) first strike (3) banding.  First strike would activate first because it does not add any cards to battle.  Banding would activate second because choose the blocker has to activate last.

Well, its not so much that I want someone else to give an official ruling so much as that thread just kinda stops with both sides still in disagreeance.
