77matthew OTS challenged me, I accepted.

After several disconnects, reconnects, (which he admitted were his fault, because of a poor internet connection) and one restart, we finally got our game rolling. He and I were tied 2-2, until on his turn he falling away'd me, and SoG + NJ'd to go up 4-1. It was then my turn, and his connection went out again. After a couple failed reconnects we talk it over on Hamachi and decide to chalk up the day's attempts as "ghost" disconnect. 77matthew felt he could win the game next turn, I disagreed, so we settled on the ghost disconnect.

Does his OTS challenge, that was never completed, still count? (it would use up my last OTS, b/c Calebx and I haven't played yet)

I hate that you went through all that because you can not get any points from that game win, lose, or ghosting.  You have already played 2 games and have an outstanding challenge with Calebx which adds up to 3 games this week.  Sorry, only Matt77 would have gotten any points from that game.

Ah, no worries. I just like playing.

I haven't heard from Calebx... he hasn't replied to my PM's either.

Ok I beat Crustpope 5-4 with my beast Angel of the Harvest making all 5 rescues.... gg all around.

Also - No Plots were harmed in the making of this game....

Additionally I got set back by the fact that the RTS file I have doesn't include Haman Promo - can somebody direct me to where I could get an expansion that includes him

Furthermore I would like my captured ark for participation in a district tournament mailed to the following address:

Yeah... my offense and defense were matched perfectly to beat him, I got hur and gifts first turn, which then let me get confusion and a pale green guy to kill his sog. Wasn't his fault.  :)

Yes, I lost to calebx. Needed my SOG, which came the next turn for the win. Oh well. it was a good game- the better caleb won :)

Prof and I decided to "rematch" our tie game, since there are no official rules on ties we kind of just decided to "make up" our own lol.

Prof and I began a game and it was tied 1-1. Then my power went out at my house, and we got disconnected. I was on my desktop (the power is actually still out... not sure why  ??? ) So I hopped on my laptop which has a pretty good battery life, and we decided to play again, but I had to use a different deck because my laptop didn't have the same decks as my pc. I snuck out with a win (5-2) in a close game. I used 3 lamb icons in my last turn to get the victory.

Prof and I decided to let SS decide what points will be awarded or what not. Honestly, I don't really care much about the points (as you can probably tell by my score   :P) I just like to play lol.

Indeed, juhnkect is correct.  Although I think I would have won the game that got disconnected, I did indeed lose the game that we finished.  I am also fine with whatever SS decides for the points.  But with the loss, I would only go down a point.  With the win, he would go up 2 points (due to bonus).  So for his sake, I hope the win counts :)

I wasn't aware that we could replay a game if both players aren't satisfied with the outcome, even in the case of a tie.  If that isn't already a rule for the tournament then I don't think we should make it one.

I'm glad you guys had a fun game and got to rematch. :)  I think it should stay a fun game and not be official.

I wasn't aware that we could either.  I just noticed that there was nothing in the rules about tie games, and figured that it was worth a shot.  I also agree that we should add a rule about what to do with ties so everyone will know in the future.

That's correct.  ROOT is scored a little differently.  In ROOT you get 1 point for a loss and 3 points for a win (plus possible bonus points if you beat someone above you in the rankings).

Since there are 4 total points that are awarded for a match (not counting bonus points), a tie would result in each player receiving 2 points.

Considering that there are normally 4 points up for grabs (3 for the winner, 1 for the loser), it would make the most sense to give each player 2 points in a tie.

As for whether to allow the players to play a "tie-breaker" later in the week, that's up to SoulSeeker.  Personally I think it's a nice option as it allows another game to be played, and that is what this tournament is designed to do (get people playing games) :)

Since the first game completed as a tie.  I had given both of them 2 points and marked it as such.  My initial feeling as I was reading through was that if both people were content with the rematch to erase a tie then I was okay with it.  However, Gabe brings up a good point:

I wasn't aware that we could replay a game if both players aren't satisfied with the outcome[/b], even in the case of a tie.
This is (I believe) is only the second time a tie has occurred in all the matches to date (including the SOT).  Most of the time, one opponent will be satisfied with an outcome.  However, there may be a time (massaging of points) that both opponent's may agree to replay a game (no matter how unlikely) and that is what concerns me.  Setting a precedent for "replaying" official games also concerns me.  I am okay with replays on disconnects, but the first game you actually brought to completion and it was still a tie through locking each other out.

So, for the sake of consistency and overall fairness:
I'm going to allow the first game to stand.  It was an actual completed game that ended with lockouts which also happens at tournaments from time to time.  Afterall, ties are super rare.  In the event, that ties become more popular (as evil cards become stronger), then we may have to reevaluate the situation.  Again, this is only the second time it's happened and the first time the game was not replayed to my knowledge.

Soul Seeker and I played our game today.  Even though I bought myself some time because I didn't draw a Lost Soul for several turns, he still got the win.  GG, Jonathan! ;)
