This tournament will begin today and will be the final ROOT tournament of the year. The participants have decided to make it a T2-Only event, and with 5 people, it will be round-robin (rankings will still be determined in the usual way--4 pts for a win, 3 pts for a TO-win, 2.5 for a tie, 2 for a TO-loss and 1 for a loss, with head-to-head then differential as the tiebreakers). People can still join (though the number of rounds will stay at 5, and they have to be willing to play T2).

I'm just thinking out loud here...  If this is going to be Round-Robin, can we play ROOT games outside of the normal schedule?  With the holidays coming up and all, some weeks may be good for me to get a few games in, and others may be a stretch to get one in.

The only thing you'd need is both players (who haven't played each other yet) giving written confirmation by PM that the game represents a T2 ROOT game.

Also, are we doing 2 hour time limits for these?

I agree that playing games outside of the schedule would be fine; I just want to keep it as organized as possible, so I will keep pairings/rankings as normal. I also did it this way in case anyone else joins, it will no longer be round-robin. But I am definitely willing to be flexible with scheduling, and if you want to postpone/play games ahead of time, that is fine, just let me know.

My plan is to have all rounds done by the end of the year, so if any of the rounds needs to be longer, that is definitely okay.

Thanks guys. Like I said earlier, the format of this tournament allows it to be pretty loose, so go ahead and play your games with anyone else in the tournament whenever you are available, since it is Round Robin. I will update rankings next Tuesday, but if you don't get this first round in by then, that is fine. I've been busy as well. All I want to try to ensure is that the Round Robin tournament is done by the beginning of next year.

Since these games have been coming in slowly (I've been busy, and it seems others have too), I've decided to post my availability (about a week or so out) in this thread, and anyone I haven't played yet can accept a time slot that works for them.  If you see one that works, send me a PM.

Tuesday/Wednesday 11/26-27 after 8 pm EST (I can only do one of these.  If either night is taken, then I can't play the other.)

Friday, 11/29, pretty much all day.  I am off work and I have no plans.

Monday 12/2 after 8 PM EST.

Tuesday 12/3 after 8 PM EST.

Thursday 12/5 after 8 PM EST.

Saturday 12/7 - pretty much any time should work, let me know when works for you.

Due to the complete lack of response to these times, I don't see a point to posting my schedule.  Just PM me for a time.

I don't know if everyone has given up on this or what, but I will still have time over the last week of December to get my games in.  I've sent PMs to everyone at least once, and have gotten almost no replies.  Also, no one has reached out to me to set up a time either.  Which is sad, because I was looking forward to playing T2 games   :(

Is it too late to join this?  I only play T2 now and have been looking forward to a T2 RTS tournament for some time :)

I'm pretty sure this has been over for quite awhile since it's the Nov./Dec. ROOT for 2013. The T2 Only in MN is coming up here pretty soon though and that's the most popular T2 tournament you'll find. As far as on RTS goes, they'll probably do another one at a similar time this year as they did last year but I'm not sure.

Unfortunately, only a few people were able to get games in, as this took place during the holiday season. After a rather busy period of work, I am planning to restart ROOT sometime next week for a Feb/March tournament. I will close out this tournament now, however.
