Installing Lackey on latest MacOS

Looks like the Mac version of Lackey is not able to run on the latest versions of MacOS. To run Lackey on Mac, you need to download the Windows version of Lackey and set that up to run. Here's how.

Download the Windows version of Lackey. Unzip the download.

Install Wineskin - http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php

Run the Wineskin Winery app.

When you open up the Wineskin Winery app, it probably has en empty list in the top half of the window, with a + and - buttons underneath.. Click the + button to install an "engine" - It pops up a thing where you can choose a version from a dropdown. Looks like I'm using version 1.9.24, if you want to use that. Just select the version and click "download and install"

Now we need to create a new “wrapper” for Lackey. I put together a detailed walkthrough of that at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mpmJAzJ309UPXMvdG1Yfn444pIZo1epmjE77Qvup9K8/edit?usp=sharing

Follow the instructions there and let me know if you have issues.

New and way easier instructions:

Download the Mac version of LackeyCCG. Put it in your main Applications folder. Open the Terminal application and paste in this command, and hit enter:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /LackeyCCGpath

You should now be able to run the LackeyCCG application.

Hi! So, I wanted to set up Lackey again. I found out there's a fix to this issue on a Mac and the Mac OS version of Lackey may be able to run fine! See http://www.lackeyccg.com/forum/index.php?topic=3052.msg20102#msg20102 for what you need to do. Let me know if you have any questions.

After much trouble shooting it seems this solution works for Mac OS Sierra from all the comments I can see. It should work on older Mac operating systems and some of the older Mac operating systems do not even need this command line to get Lackey working (from what I recall I got Lackey working on Mac OS Mavericks without needing to enter the command line solution listed by TheJambi).

However, for the newer Mac operating systems (High Sierra, Mojave, and Catalina. I have tested both High Sierra and Catalina but not Mojave) from what I can tell the solution listed by TheJambi does not work. Each time I tried to enter the command line in the Terminal it could not locate Lackey.

However, I was able to get Lackey running on the latest Mac OS Catalina by copying it from an old back up I had. It seems the issues kick in with downloading from the internet but doing an install from a USB drive works just fine.

All this to say if anyone wants to install Lackey on a Mac I would be happy to mail you a USB drive with Lackey on it and all you would need to do is drag it to your applications folder and it should work fine! You would just need to pay for the USB drive and shipping and then you can run Lackey on your Mac. I believe this should work on any modern Mac operating system.
