The release of new sets

Me and a couple guys have been talking about this so I thought I'd ask. Is there a reason why the new sets are not released at the Nationals? If the new sets we're released at the Nationals that would give everyone a year to play with the new cards and get used to them. Releasing them 2 months before Nationals does not give everyone enough time to make a really good deck and work out all the Kinks.

Up until 2004, new sets were released in the spring. Starting in 2004 and up until last year, new sets were released at Nationals (with the exception of the I/J starters). In the post below, Rob shares some insight into why the decision was made to do spring releases once again.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

honestly i'm loving this set release schedule.. super exciting makes the chase worth it up to nationals.. much more of an active meta(way less predictable)

i like that the dust and ashes haven't settled by the time we get to nationals with this release schedule.. nobody knows what is ludicrously good yet or what is a guaranteed win condition (if any)

keeps the creativity flowing! i love seeing people's unique deck builds!
