I am curious, for Porcius, if we ever decided upon a default for not being able to complete a SA. For instance, if my opponent says that he has no enhancements in hand, are they required to reveal their hand to prove it?

I think the consensus was that they don't have to reveal but you can call a judge if you are uncertain.

Browarod is correct about the current rule. We're talking about making the "I Am Holy" rule the norm. In fact it's an agenda item for our group call tonight. If we make an official change we will announce it effective after Nats.

Not really wowed by Festus, his first strike is not that useful really, and the enhancement hand over is only good if the opponent is playing with the same offense/defense brigade

Precisely. Unless you can prevent him, you are going to lose an enhancement at least temporarily. Do you have the resources to do that and still win the battle? In most cases, you probably do...but what if the deck is using Roman hand control? Will you still have enough enhancements to pay the cost and win the battle?

It adds a very interesting wrinkle to Romans and an interesting interaction we look forward to seeing in action.

It's basically "Opponent must discard an enhancement from hand", except better, because you might be able to use it.

Don't forget, Rome allows Emperors to play enhancements of other brigades, with some limitations (Orange and OT excluded maybe?). And I can see potential to abuse a converted Festus via sidebattles/Darius Decree in T2.

In a playtest game I was using a Roman hand control deck and an offense that included Paul. Festus won a battle when my opponent had to give me his only good enhancement in his 4 card hand (Bravery of David), which was then used in my next turn rescue with Paul to win the battle.

In one play test battle I was given a Roman's Destroy Jerusalem by Festus' ability. At the time, James, Leader in Jerusalem's ability protected all of the Heroes I had in my territory, making that a very one sided play.

Look, if you're going to expect there to be consistency regarding the application of duties for individuals, then you have to define the identifier you use in the REG! Limiting it to obscure references on the boards is an improper and contrary method of communicating these decisions, and then you end up with confusion and inconsistent applications as a result!

Also, I had thought that it was known that my prodigious knowledge base and predictive capabilities show that I can accurately assess the outcomes of playtesting anyway, and thus it was not necessary for me to actually 'test' the cards outside of my mindscape.

So...are we adding it to the REG then?

I don't like that he is evil, as he was Paul's friend. But I guess we don't know that he converted, so he would need to be evil...

He wasn't really Paul's friend, he was his jailer. That he wasn't cruel to him was a good thing, but he was only doing his job and trying to get it done right (which is why he ignored Paul the first time, taking the word of seasoned sailors, but once he saw that Paul could predict things he listened to what he had to say).

We also don't have any evidence of any long-lasting effect for him or any conversion, though of course we would hope that he thought about what happened with Paul and maybe that contributed to a change later.
